Had a 8mm colloid cyst removed in 1983 suffered from hydrocephalus(paralyses started in my right hand then to my right leg) . Major right frontal craniotomy as a point of entry to my 3rd ventricle for removal of the cyst. Major swelling of my head , spent 31 days in intensive care I was 33 at the time and am now 73. Allergic to Dilantin at the time had a grand mal siezer 1 year later and have been on 128 mg of Phenobarbital since. I have also been a lifelong motorcycle rider, bought a 2001 Ducati monster (900cc) for my 65 birthday, I just love it as well as life itself.

Try contacting your GP or go see an optician. If the optician can see compression behind your eyes that will mean you require surgery. My first cyst was discovered by an optician.

I have a 1.5cm x 1.5cm x 1.4cm colloid cyst in the fourth ventricle of the brain. Apparently more rare than ones found in the third ventricle.

Didn't know about the 4th ventricle. I have a third ventricle colloid cyst, which has been successfully operated on twice. Possible requirement for a third operation. I hope you are doing well.

Very informative video . Can a colloid cyst cause symptoms without hydrocephalus? . I have a 6mm colloid cyst but no hydrocephalus, I have headaches and nausea.

@@vrindersingh1495 do you get vertigo or have pressure/ sounds in your ear? have you had your ears checked? I just had an eval from a top neurosurgeon in my city. If you don’t have hydrocephalus and if the pressure behind ur eyes are normal they are not going to operate and say that the symptoms are not related. I’m seeing an ENT soon as ear diseases can cause similar symptoms

Hi I do have tinnitus and whooshing sounds in ears and I have had extensive ENT evaluations but they say my ears are fine , however I do also have a right internal jugular vein compression which may be contributing to certain symptoms but the doctors don’t want to do anything about that for some reason.

Yes it does. I have had two endoscopic surgeries. It has returned three times.

If it is not completely removed…for example, in one piece….if a piece has to be left in due to other risks….that piece that is left is what begins growing into another cyst. If the entire cyst comes out leaving nothing behind in the ventricle then it should not grow back. Whether it is a craniotomy or endoscopic removal does not matter. What matters is that your neurosurgeon is able to get the entire cyst…including any leftover pieces no matter how tiny….all of it completely out.

I had a cist removal operation..immediately as l went on retirement! I was given a 50-50% survival expectancy! I could feel my life slipping away as l lay in the surgery! I noticed my wife giving me that last look as she left! I was operated on by a team of five Doctors..one of which was a Professor in his field! I am eternally grateful to these people for a second chance at life! I was 61 at the time and l'm 65 now! 🙏🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝👍
