Removal Procedures
1. Remove the air tube for the intermediate shaft brake.
2. Remove the intermediate shaft brake bolts.
3. Remove cover assembly and inspect for damage and worn parts.
Inspection and Cleaning
4. Remove the plates. There are two friction plates and here steel plates.
5. Clean surface area well.
6. Remove piston and spring from the intermediate shaft brake.
7. Inspect cylinder seals for damage while also inspecting the piston.
Reassembly Procedures
8. Re-install the sleeve with the O-ring, spring and piston.
9. Do not damage the seal during installation.
10. Replace the gasket for the intermediate shaft brake on the clutch housing.
• Note: replace the steel and friction plates if required
11. Fit the cylinder cover over the discs and tighten the bolts to OE specifications.
12. Inspect and clean the screw threads for the nipples and connect the air tube for the intermediate shaft brake.
13. Screw on the nuts by hand and then a further 3/4 turn using a spanner.
