April 1999, had the 1st Busa in San Diego, Ran it bone stock with my 210 Lb rider weight. 10.20 @ 130 something mph at Carlsbad Raceway. Had to replace clutch 2 weeks later. Used Kaw KX 650 plates from Cycle Salvage . New Busa plates not available back then. Bike made 156 RWHP at Lee Cycle's dyno, stock.

Bikes today are so much different. I'm still old school on a '88 Katana 1100 (with 115,000 km on it) that I'd love to try down the strip if I wasn't pushing 70 years old. lol

That was some really good riding on a new platform to put up those numbers. Time to put the 3g Busa on a diet and unlock that hidden horsepower. Great job Chris!

Very cool vid. Looking forward to you maxing out the gen 3's full potential & seeing what this is really capable of. I saw in another review that apparently it has a sensor in the gearbox that will warn you & prevent launching if the clutch overheats which is why the engine light comes on if you keep doing launches & burnouts etc.

Enjoyed the new Busa out there on the 1/8 mile. Too many "nannies", but that's what we have today in a modern sportbike. All my bikes require rider skill but I've got to believe those rider aids save a lot lives and high sides! I was surprised you launched at such a low RPM...I was thinking 6k would have been perfect or nearly so, but I'm no Chris Moore! Had a mostly stock '08 model. Best bike I ever rode and absolutely gorgeous. I'd buy it back in a heartbeat if I could find it. That stroker motor is an absolute torque monster......

It was not a big surprise that Chris easily beat the rider aids (and that is still impressive as I think Suzuki did a very good job programming the ECU) 👏

Funny thing is that I didn't know there was a problem with the clutch engagement till I read about it later. I had no problem with it, but had been drag racing bikes for 30 years as of 1999. 1st one in San Diego, April ,1999. Was dragging a '71 Kaw H 1 back in '72. If you can clutch / launch that, you can pretty much do any bike.

Hey Chris, great video! Really appreciate the fact we didn't have to wait very long for a performance test on the new Busa. I'm looking forward to seeing what it does with a flash tune and a new Brock's performance exhaust system. I'll tell you what, I had a pretty good feeling the bike would perform best with all the electronic rider aids turned off, especially with a professional rider such as yourself and sure enough, you proved that to be right. Well Chris, I can't wait until you get your very own 2022 Hayabusa into the shop, get rid of all the factory limiting nonsense, lose all the unnecessary weight from the insane exhaust system and whatever else you can take off to improve the looks, (the rear fender & license plate assembly needs to go) and a little bit of an exstended swingarm.....yes really excited to see what it'll do with these minor modifications and then so on as you keep modifying your bike until you get it where you want it to be. I'm hoping you keep it as a street legal weekend racer so next year when I order my new Hayabusa I will know from your knowledge and experience any and all of the performance mods. Maybe you could put all the performance parts that you have done on your personal bike in a package deal including the ECU flash for those of us who completely respect and admire what you do on the channel, this way we can purchase from your shop, the complete Moore Mafia performance package to build our 2022 Hayabusa as a total copy of the one you build. How awesome would this be? The Chris Moore 2022 Hayabusa performance package which will include everything we need including a street able exstended swingarm and chain kit to build a copy of the machine our mentor races on the weekends. What do ya think, can you make this happen? I'm sure that there will be a heck of a lot more people than just myself that will be ready to plop down the cash for a proven performance kit. Hell I'm fired up just thinking about it!!! I absolutely love my Gen 2 Hayabusa and will keep it forever but am totally serious about purchasing the Gen 3 for the next year just in case they make a few changes from the first year model. I love the Suzuki Hayabusa, that's for sure! Anyway, thanks again for another amazing and entertaining video, I will most definitely be watching for the next one. If it's like the Gsx-R 1000 put the quickshifter in mode 2 and you'll shift faster.

This video is a slap on the face of those guys who still think that the new busa accelerates from 0-100 kmph in 3.2 second. It accelerates from 0 -100 in just 2.6 or 2.7 seconds
