It's time for a supercar vs superbike DRAG RACE!
Mat's lining up in his Porsche 911 Turbo S, and he's about to face off against a Suzuki Hayabusa!
So let's see how they compare. Starting with the Porsche, it's powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six that can produce 650hp & 800Nm of torque. It's a bit heavy, weighing in at 1,640kg.
Naturally, the bike is a whole lot lighter - it tips the scales at just 264kg! It's powered by a 1340cc 4 cylinder, which is good for around 190hp. So of course, it's down on power, but it is SO much lighter!
So what do you think - will the two wheels be able to put their power down properly? Or will the all-conquering Porsche snatch another win? There's only one way to find out - LET'S RACE!

Because it would probably make the production of the video so much slower. Gopro failures for 4 cars when its hot, post production editing shit, packing and unpacking the gear. This is a quantity chanell so they need to be quick

More people need to try a bike. The stigma of it being unsafe puts a lot of people off, but it's genuinely one of the most rewarding things any real petrolhead can do. Being literally part of the machine and feeling the engine do its thing beneath you is something cars don't really compare to.

Yeah that's true, unfortunately there's way less people out there who are into motorcycles compared to cars, the feeling of freedom that it gives you is unrivaled by any car, you feel like you can conquer the world and go wherever you want cause you don't need to be stuck in a traffic jam.

It is about the surface I think. Aventador SVJ used to do 10.4 but in the most recent race it did 10.8 I think

a 0.2 sec difference can be caused by so many variables nothing to do with loss in horses. less traction on launch, the weather, temperature, how much fuel in the tank, tyre tread, last service etc.. on a really good day it might even do 9.9

Did they mention that this bike comes power restricted off the factory in all of the first three gears, thats until about 130 mph? ECU flash is what a lot of Hayabusa owners do 'against it' first.

I ride motorcycles (r1200GSA) and it is still crazy to me that you can buy a motorcycle that will do a quarter mile that quick for less than 20k. What’s even worse the people who usually buy hayabusas in the US are the ones who have no business being on motorcycles at all much less one that is that fast. They are always the worst riders and they ride around in flip flops and shorts.

@@IamLEGENDkb24 765LT can beat these street bikes from a roll on yes but against the MotoGP bike with lightweight Pedrosa is impossible, you'd need a 2004-2005 V10 F1 car which has a dry weight of around 520kg and just under 1000hp and a narrow 1.8m chassis width, those things even nearly 20 years old would smash a modern MotoGP bike in a drag race or roll on.

@@1010thechamp I don't think an f1 from 2004 weights 520kg I googled a Ferrari f2004 and the weight is 620kg but still those things are unbelievably fast and way cooler than the new boring f1 cars, not sure if they'd smash a modern motogp bike, those things make almost 300 hp with a weight of just 160kg, but still, I think the f1 would win but it wouldn't be such a massive difference, but 4 wheels put the power down better than 2.

Unfortunately the bike is restricted through it's ecu as standard. These can be unlocked to obtain it's full power in all the gears and also increase the redline. All big superbikes have this restriction unfortunately.

I'm a biker, probably because I have italian blood but live in London and I can't afford a nice car. That being said, bikes offer sooooo much performance for the money, but cars have many advantages and if taken to the extreme (F1) offer more performance. In the real world any bike would probably smoke your tuned Audi. But again, anything with an engine is awesome!!

Now 74 still ride and have a collection of big bikes and my two cars are 50 y.o M.G.B and also 50 y.o Rover 2200 P6 which I love . Keep doing the videos ,they are great ! .

I mean, yea. Pretty much expected. The porsche pulls off faster because it has more then 4 times the contact surface area to the ground (and it doesnt have to keep wheelieng in mind lol) but the busa takes off because of the weight difference and sleeker aerodynamics. Same story with the braking test (tyre contact area wise).

That, in practice, due to the shape of the motorcycle tyre, has more then 2 times the contact patch per tyre compared to the (average, front wheel is narrower than the rear wheel on the bike) busa. That is even after taking deformation into account

more contact surface does not give more traction. the friction force is proportional to weight over tires times friction coefficient. it's more the sophisticated launch control combined with efficient all wheel drive. the bike can't do a good start because it's impossible to pass all the power without lifting the front too much. the Porsche also has quicker shifts and closer ratio gears due to 8 speeds.

Great race, that Porsche is amazing off the line, the busa is an old heavy bike nowadays, a legend when it first came out but compared to a Ducati v4 panigale 60kg's heavier which alot on a bike.

Shows how ultimate car performance has not only caught up with bikes over the last 20 years but bettered it really. Bikes can only accelerate so quickly no matter what because of launching issues.

@@bigduphusaj162 He said one of the fastest. I'd say its still top 10 fastest bikes even today. The new hayabusa was a disappointment from suzuki though. I'm guessing regulations are what's killing it. It should of been 220hp by now.

they still don't really a very few cars can beat a new litre bike off the line. Hayabusas are sort of slow in comparison to a litre bike

As time goes on bikes will not even be mentioned with cars. Bikes were built like race engine 20 years ago and cars have been moving slowly toward that and physics are catching up with the poor drag coefficient of bikes and poor launch due to having to keep the front wheel down.
