We are at quarters of New Haven Engine 10, quartered with Truck 3 and the East Battalion (Car 33) at 416 Lombard Street, where we ride with Engine 10 to an auto accident on Middletown Avenue. A car slammed into a light pole, shearing it in half and causing the pole to crash down and into the car. The driver fled the scene, and can actually be seen in the grey T-shirt, jeans, and ball cap at the 1:44 mark. He was collared by the cops a short time later. The car in the scene was in bad shape. An ambulance was already there, but was not needed, and UI was called in to fix the pole and wires. Engine 10 is a brand new 2016 Pierce Arrow XT.
