Currently steam engine doesnot use Coal it is either #Highspeed_Diesel or #FurnaceOil heating the water since quality coal is not available & turnaround time for Pure coal is 3 Hours(Cleaning & refilling coal), Furnace Oil is 5 Hours & #Highspeed_Diesel is only 30 Minutes. So soon all steam engines will be converted to #Highspeed_Diesel & future mostly to #Hydrogen_Engines

The steam engine is using furnace oil for producing required power. But not Coal fired engine.

Bro . They are not using Coal now , instead they are using Furnace Oil to burn and create fire and using for steam generation Only change is instead of coal , furnace oil, but you can experience same steam engine feeling
