You took me 22 years back . When I was in college we group of 9 friends went to ooty trip from Chennai. At that ticket was 20rs from mettupalayam to ooty. Entire trip for person was budgeted at 2000 rs for 4 days. Great memories of ooty. Love this place. If KZfaq comments section had an option to post pictures I would have posted here.

my favorite train trip - reminds me of my first trip with after marriage in 1997...very nostalgic . This was an engineering marvel completed in 1908 and India's only rack rail . The train journey can be made more joyful with special facilities for tourists at all stations and especially provide audio messages for kids with history and some music inside the coaches . Also some souvenir's at the station will be a great idea .

I'm so happy to see the steam locomotive train from Mettupalayam to Ooty after a very long time. The Coonoor station and its locality are so mesmerizing to see on the way to Ooty. The tea estates are breathtaking. A nature gift to Tamil nadu. People living in Mettupalayam and Coimbatore are lucky to have ooty close to them.
