If you listen to people like Brandon, they RARELY ever say "Scripture says..." They almost ALWAYS reply, "Well, I THINK God meant"...OR "IMO Jesus was saying this NOT that.." These people NEVER exegate Scripture correctly. They NEVER do. They tell you their " feelings", not the facts of what Biblical Scripture says...If it wasn't so serious, it would almost be hilarious.

The fundamentals of Christianity is stated in Ephesians 2:8-9, "God saved you by grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none can boast about it."

It doesn't undermine scripture to say that they have impressive lives worthy of a degree of emulation. Apologia went in on Brandan during their interview with him and honestly they were right to do it. He proclaims to worship the same God, then proclaims a different message. This is exactly the type of false teacher that we need to call out and remain firm with calls to repentance.

From brief observation of their body language, Sean is very composed, articulate and sure of Christ as is evident in the natural cadence of his answer. Brendan seems very jumpy, scattered, and a bit uncomfortable. I’m sure Brendan received much rebuke and also encouragement on his interpretation of the Gospel, so let’s all keep him in prayer that he come to know the true and living God. Only He can fill that space that seems to be so unsure and full of doubt inside of Brendan. Father, bless him and help him to find the truth. In Jesus’ name.

@@SDSwampert, well a rebuke spoken in love does as Paul says to Timothy, that we should rebuke, edify and exhort with all patience and gentleness. "A word in season is like apples of gold in settings of silver." But Paul goes on to say that we do this in love and gentleness and patience so that they to may escape the snare of the devil which they have made captive to...but God our Beloved is able to rescue him.

I did my fair share of forcing Jesus to conform to my expectations, and struggled with a lot of condemnation from it. Now I’m relearning the gospel, and it’s not always want we want to hear, but it’s what we need. Please pray that I continue to learn the actual truth about Him, and that I myself will become less.

Brendan might be a false teacher, but that doesn't give us the opportunity to mock him. It should encourage us to reach out to him the true gospel of Christ, NOT write comments about his appearance, what impression would that give him? You think that represents the love of Christ in us.? And therefore he would draw closer? Course not! God can use Brandan through all his publicity he's getting. Not because he's right, but because he's wrong and is further showing those watching these convos a real life example of having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof("as far as what Lord means"), in whom we're told to turn away from. Progressive = Apostasy. I do pray he comes to the knowledge of the Truth before it's too late. Sean, thank you for juxtaposing the Truth by having conversations with those who in dire need of it.

It's an "I" centric gospel instead of a "Christ" centric gospel. This was exactly what the original sin was both when Lucifer fell from heaven and when Adam and Eve ate the fruit, it's "I'm the most important person and I'm the greatest thing to ever exist, I want to be above God" sort of mindset.

Here another take: By appearing to only a very small amount of people and 295k years after we humans already existed, Jesus accepted that 55 billion people, that lived before him, would never hear his words and that till today his words would not be followed by 2/3 of humans as those humans were socialized in other religions. He also accepted that his words would spread in vi ole nce on North Europe, in North America and especially in Latin America, where it caused the biggest ge noc ide of human history.

Notice how the first one speaks plainly, explains the most important part which is salvation by faith - while the second speaks ambiguously about works and teachings without a massage of salvation. Says it all really

🎶One of these things is not like the other 🎶 I’m glad there is dialog. One, to dispel misleading &/or misunderstood points within Christianity. Two, to allow people the opportunity to speak from their view point - which in turn shows the differences between Biblical Christianity and “Other” religions. Plus, Sean tends to have a whole range of different topics - which keeps things interesting.

The problem is where he talks about proclaiming Jesus's vision, Brandan interprets what Jesus' vision is according to his own desires. He certainly doesn't really know Jesus's "vision, message and teachings" or conform his life to them, if he did he would say porn can be holy and affirm homosexual and polyamourous relationships.

Apart of the lgbt community, I didn’t need some pastor or Christian to tell me homosexuality is sin. I knew it was sin, even though at the time I wouldn’t have used the word sin. Still I didn’t turn nor believe in God. Then Jesus came and saved my life. I still struggle, but I desire His love and forgiveness above everything and anyone else. For anyone who’s listening to Brandens lies, Jesus loves you, He will accept you, and He will change you. You aren’t perfect the way you are, but come as you are and He will change your desires and lusts. It’s hard to accept truth, but if we don’t face the harsh truths of scripture, we will not receive the Kingdom of God. I’m reminded by Paul when he writes, “Nor homosexuals nor the effeminate will have any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and of God.” Be blessed! Seek truth, not comfort.

This is the problem of this generation we have people that don’t know God, nor have been filled with Holy Spirit, they do not pray, and have a relationship with Jesus. We have people that have never have an encounter with Christ preaching about him!

The other day I learned that there is a difference between the deity of Christ and the Divinity of Christ. Apparently academics have found ways to make this more complicated in order to make Jesus special but also not God. That's why when I'm talking in conversation about the topic I always throw in deity and divinity at the risk of being redundant.

Wow! I felt such sadness when the birth place of Jesus was discussed with him.. I pray he doesn’t loose his faith when he knows Mormonism is wrong , and comes to Jesus . I can only imagine the burden that will be off his shoulders

Pastors, Elders, Bishops, Priests, etc have for centuries spent ample time working to ask the most important question throughout time: Who is Jesus? I believe the stark differences in the answers between these two men show just how important the answer/understanding is, and how radically different our lives look based on our answer/understanding. May the Lord have mercy on Mr. Robertson.

Notice how the second guy's "take" on Jesus makes it all about HIMSELF, the man, and he ends it by saying "as far as what Lord means, we can get to that later." That tells us all we need to know about Guy #2. He's no pastor or elder or deacon.

Jesus was an insurgent. Mitchell Heisman, a Harvard librarian, pointed out that in ancient Hebrew text, jesus's referred to as " Jesus son of Pantera". Pantera was a Roman soldier. consequently his gravestone was found in Germany while they were building a railroad. This explains the identity crisis of Christ. He was ostracized by the Hebrews and rejected by the Romans. He realized that if he rebelled openly it would end it in his immediate death. To enact his vengeance, he developed the ideology of altruism. This was very appealing to the cultural outcasts. And gained enough momentum to destabilize Rome while barbarians were pushing in on every corner. I think this is a very interesting hypothesis with a lot of explaining power.

I Pay attention to the small things like the rings around his eyes as though this man doesn’t get very much sleep… I have a feeling he is struggling with something heavy… I don’t want to speculate too much further but I pray he gets right with God or that millstone around his neck will get heavier and heavier.

As a celibate Christian with same sex attraction I think a lot of people here never struggled with same sex attraction and don’t have pity for him. I get it we need to jealously guard the word but I think he’s sincere…. Sincerely wrong but genuine in trying to make sense of his sexuality and his faith :/ I pity him as a Christian with same sex attraction I can see the appeal of his theology and the pain that went into arriving at it…..

Notice Brandon never mentions eternal life, instead abundant life. He has stated he doesn’t believe in hell and stated he has mixed opinions on the reality of heaven. He is a heretic who needs prayed for and ministered to. Unfortunately he’s so deep in his pride that only he can turn away from it.
