Brandi Carlile posted on her instagram a cryptic message about busking at the Pike Place Market. "see you soon fish" she said! Less than 25 minutes later they were playing in front of the iconic Flying Fish. I work in the market and felt unbelievably lucky to have been right there while they setup and got to see all 4 songs. Grohl stepped into the audience, totally incognito (you can see him at the beginning of the first song to my left) for Brandi and the Twin's first 2 songs. I managed to get all 4 songs except the end of the first song on video, enjoy! I'm still pinching myself! After it was over there were maybe 150 people who had gathered, they took selfies with so many people and then left.
You can also see Brandi's mom as well as their kids, it was a family day for sure!
For those who wished i was in landscape mode. Yeah, me too. Let me set the scene here.. I was holding a 1/2 eaten egg salad sandwich in one hand, from 3 sisters so you know it was overflowing with egg salad. Many of my friends are Brandi fans, and I felt so honored to have been there. I wanted to share with them by going live on Facebook, which is in vertical format or the video would have been sideways. It never occurred to me that I was going to share this on youtube. So next time I'm in the magic moment at the right place and time I'll remember to turn my phone. There was a professional film crew with them so maybe this "gig" will show up somewhere. In the meantime, try to enjoy!
