This video just played on CMT, and I don’t know if anyone will understand how much that means to me. I’m from a small town and I’m very country, and sometimes it feels hard to be country and gay at the same time, almost as if there’s two different parts of me. It’s been hard to bridge that gap in me, and seeing a lesbian couple on CMT really just made my whole day. ❤️

I am watching Brandi Carlile for the first time this Sunday morning on Austin City Limits. I am truly not familiar with her music. As a music aficionado and former radio disc jockey, I would like to make a comment. This woman is a total powerhouse of a musician. She's a true musician in the sense of the craft as she writes songs, beautiful songs indeed. She's Joni Mitchell, Stephen Stills, Judy Collins, Jim Croce, Harry Chapin, Don McLean style of songwriter I called them intellectual songwriters. She is really exceptional. Thank you for reading.

People sing about relationships in abundance, but few capture the essence and feelings quite like this song. And the way the actresses portrayed it couldn't have been done better. Just perfection. I couldn't stop the tears.

This song speaks to me. I am currently in the final stage of divorcing my severely alcoholic husband. I love him so deeply, but I know he is never going to be able to reciprocate it as long as he carries this disease. I've done everything I could possibly think of to keep him afloat and am leaving only because I was drowning right with him. It's the hardest thing I've ever done, and I feel like I'll always belong to him. I'm still rooting for him.

I heard this song for the first time this past weekend when Brandi played it at Bonnaroo. I was only tangentially familiar with Brandi and her music but her set completely blew me away and almost stole the weekend. This song in particular stopped me in my tracks and brought me to open tears in the beautiful Tennessee sunshine. What music is all about. Thank you!!!!!

It's amazing that Brandi has a very long career and I didn't know about her because the music industry just wants to give us pop artists without talent. I knew about her because at the end of a movie (The Sweet Life) a song from her is played and I loved it so much that I looked for it on Shazam. Since then I keep listening to her wonderful music. Super singer and songwriter; better human being. I love her with all my being. I hope to see her perform live someday.

And yes we fought at times, but so does every couple, and our bad times never outweighed the good.
