Finally I got to drive the GP track!!
And what a different track it is to the Indy circuit!
The car felt so much better now the alignment is correct. Last week toe was 3 mins on the back left and 8 mins on the back right meaning the car wanted to oversteer everywhere. Fun for drifting but not good for lap times and explains why the car has been slower at all my usual tracks for the past year or so.
Brakes were completely worn out but still stopped the car ok, you can hear the vibrations on the video.
Running 245/35/19 square trofeo R, didn’t take too long to come on as it was pretty warm. Nice on the road, very quiet compared to AR-1 but feel just as grippy.
Unfortunately, I got flagged for noise so tried running in efficient which seemed to keep the exhaust valves shut permanently. I think with stock mapping the car should open the valves on full throttle but the map
I have doesn’t. This is why it came up with drivetrain fault and went into limp mode. I’m going to get the stock downpipes/cats put back on then get it remapped. It’ll lose a bit of power, maybe 20bhp and similar torque but I’ll have no more noise worries and be able to go back to Bedford and Thruxton.
Very tasty Evo. Spoke to the guy that built it and they’re doing time attack on Sunday, hope they do well .
