@@isaacbruner65 Yeah, Brandon has helped me get over waiting for Patrick Rothfuss' Book 3 lol. I remember when I first found him on Twitter, where he constantly updates everyone on the progression of his projects, what % they are at, and he tweets it out everyday. I'm not trying to bash Patrick or anything. Brandon is just a machine, and unlike other Authors who pump out a book or two every year, Brandon's work is put together so well...kinda wonder if they're aren't two of him and we don't know it lol.

@@Art_with_Ms_Swann Yes, but I can understand why people might not have it as their favorite, the writing is better than Skyrim, but the gameplay is very cluncky, and in a media that has interactivity as it's main selling point, the gameplay mechanics can make or break a game for some people.

I have played that game and finished it.... well, the main storyline. Pretty darn original. I expected Tombraider to be on that list too though coz of the earlier Monkey Island on the list. Anybody who agrees with this statement should give Outer Wilds (Different from The Outer Worlds!) a look. Lot's of comments here are going to be about the list itself, but I just want to say that the part I appreciate most is that you admit that such art is subjective, and that just because something didn't make your list doesn't mean it shouldn't make someone else's. I'll never forget being in your class a couple years back and calling out Mistborn's magic system for being one (of a couple) reasons I couldn't get through it. I said that it lacked wonder (in a room overfilled with SanderFans-I got lots of glares and gasps out of people). You said almost verbatim what you said at the end of this video, and I've always appreciated that. I've shared this particular anecdote several times now (even on the Worldcasting Podcast [which we'd love to have you on, if you ever read this comment!]) and usually in the light that some people ought to learn to love what they love. Both as a consumer and a creator, you should seek out or create the things that make you happy. If nobody has told you that, random reader/writer/artist/etc., just know that it's okay to love something different from the masses-and caela knows, you're probably not alone in that love!

@@goncaloferreira6429 SPOILERS! Both are about people who are struck by a curse (the Shaod or the undead curse) and when they are they're shipped off to place with everyone else that's cursed (Elantris or the Undead Asylum). Both involve once grand cities that now lay in ruin and are populated by immoral but curse beings. The cursed beings in both run the risk of becoming hollow shells of themselves from losing their minds, and those that don't are those that retain motivation to accomplish something. Reading it the second time I found myself picturing the slums of Elantris like the Undead Burg and the empty paths of Anor Londo.

Final Fantasy has been the series I grew up with and FFX is by far my favorite and the one I stockpiled countless hours of play on. As you said the full voice over switch was massive, the storyline immersive and very bittersweet. Also it had THE BEST minigame ever in Blitzball! I probably have more hours playing blitzball than 90% of any other game I have ever played. IX is my second favorite which could be an unpopular opinion and yes, I am a bit biased since it is my entry point in the franchise, but the cartoon style mixed with very deep characters facing growth, belonging, purpose has struck me very deeply. Love to know you are a fan too. And here I thought I could not be more of a fan of you and your work.

I think it is because, while Sandersons books can get bleak, he never really loses that hope in humanity. His worlds are still populated with heroism and good, even if there’s a lot more grey than older fantasy. Series like a Song of Ife and Fire are not just dark in aesthetic, tone, and content, but they are also pessimistic about people in general. I personally really vibe with Sanderson and also am not a fan of really dark fantasy. Again, not necessarily the tone, but I really like fiction that can communicate hope in myself and others.

Funny enough, I'm halfway through Way of Kings for the first time (new fan here!) and while it is dark, I appreciate that it seems less.... grim dark than Game of Thrones. Don't get me wrong, I love Martin's world, but since I use books and games as escapism, I reeeeeally don't want the exceedingly dark sexual content. That stuff gives me visceral disgust.
