I don't think so. Maybe oldschool tricks only, most of flatland progressed so much its much faster now, much crazier and harder tricks and all on brakeless bike. No disrespect to oldschool I was riding like that but new school are crazy skilled especially Japanese riders

In some points for sure.. In my 40s now I don't have that endurance and power for the craziest shit on the bike + there's no need to compete myself anymore this hard onna bike but power efficient technical stuff like these is still there, casual and just for fun like back in the days 😊

A lot of men his age have a hard time tying their shoes. Youngsters might not appreciate how hard it is to continue riding into your 50s with injuries and life priorities. This is really impressive

When I was 12 and 13, I tried my hand at BMX, but I could never do a bunny hop or ride on wheel or do a proper jump, just never had the headspace or the timing or the coordination for it, I tried it again at age 41, I took up a bike and went to a skate park, again I couldn't do anything other than just crappy bunny hops and lazy rides in and out of the bowl, I give up F my life

Watching RAD as a kid an seeing the girl from full house doing flatland tricks at the highschool dance is what made me want to try riding an try it myself. I suck at flatland, TRAILS FOR LIFE BABY!

I always have huge respect for flatlanders. It takes a lot of patience to learn flatland trick, and even more to master it. And flatlanders always have the most dialed bikes, i love geeking out about bikes with my flatlander homies..

Probably one of the most complicated but coolest sports to ever exist. Especially back in the late 80s and early 90s .

@brianhandwork9762 the popularity of this specific style had died off massively. Mainly because bikes got a lot stronger and bmx bikes weren't limited to flat ground tricks. So now you see a lot more park and street bmx bikes. Which have a completely different design and because of that a different pool of tricks.

Back when BMX flatland started in the 80s it was one of the best parts of competition. Glad to see it coming back like this. Still remember riding with Hoffman before he was signed at Canada Expo. Then, watching him fall off back of b 1/4 pipe onto the roof of a brand new Honda directly behind ramp

I got a bmx when I was younger to try flatland but I wasn’t born with any fingers on my right hand which made it super difficult to try some of the tricks I wanted to do. So I’ve been skateboarding for the last 20 years but bmx flatland will always be my first action sports crush.
