I love how absolutely direct it is. No "we made a doll rainbow that counts right?" instead they released two cannon LGBT+ dolls and they look great. I'm not overly familiar with MGA's characters from what I know on some quick Google searching I wish that they would have cannon LGBT+ characters in their playline dolls. Read an article on "Rainbow High being great representation" but in the same article to go on to tell me that there's no openly LGBT+ characters. I know it's just a doll line and kids end up making their own characters up anyway but I think that being a kid and seeing yourself and characters that you like in the media that you consume is important. As a kid I really liked Tunnel Rat from G.I. Joe because he looked like me. It meant a lot as a kid to see myself in this cool character in the show I kept forcing my parents to rent the same VHS tapes of everytime we went to blockbuster. I think that's the same kind of thing is important here and especially with lines like rainbow high where it's aimed at an age a bit higher than most other playline dolls when kids start to figure out/become more conscious of their sexuality/gender. Mattel's quality has been ashes but I do respect having Frankie canonically non-binary. Originally I was on the fence about they should have done it with a pre-existing character but I think in a way that's more realistic and much better then making some new rando just to check a representation box then have them stand on the sidelines or trying to shoehorn them in as one of the beloved main cast. We find out now that Frankie is non-binary but they're still the same person we love. I feel like their outfits are tacky as hell but in the best possible, really endearing, and wonderful way- super out there and fun. The quality really does seem excellent. I'm not a huge Bratz person personally so I'm not playing on getting them but it's great to see and I'm glad it's out there for people that do collect them. On a side note I like that they have the cloth underwear. For some reason, ever since I was little, it just bothered me when they didn't have it. I always wanted them to have cloth underwear and socks under their clothes like people are supposed to. Like why are these dolls running around commando in these short skirts or resorting to body paint to pretend to have underwear and wearing trainers _without any socks_?! I just like little details idk. Anyway great video!

I do wish there would be a kids playline doll that was queer, but these are beautiful. I know we have G3 Frankie boldly being non-binary, which I'm happy about, but it feels like but a crumb. I just want some nice representation for queer _kids_. I hope Bratz does a pride two pack with some boy dolls! I'm not a fan of the Boy Bratz, but I'd love to see what they'd look like if they're this good.

I'm really glad they did these. I put the preorder in for these. Rainbow capitalism is a very complicated issue. On one hand, we don't want to have to pay a rainbow tax for products that would cost less if they weren't made specifically for June. On the other hand, we want Disney to take a stand for their gay employees and fans. We want MGA to make these dolls. We want John Cena's Peacemaker to be bisexual. Hard shrug. My general very loose rule for myself is I don't buy anything with a rainbow on it until at least July, and I'd prefer to buy those things when they're 70% off. If it's something I really want to make my economic vote on, like this, I for sure go all in. I want to vote for a more open society with less judgement and more fun, so I bought these.
