I have a 8.5 inch wrist so this Seiko is just right for me. I have had my eyes on GS for the last year. Thanks for the review.

It's certainly distinctive, no chance of mistaking it for anything else....and you know its going to be solid and reliable. I agree, I like the power reserve indicator & wish more watches featured it (more useful than a date imho) Good choice as a Brave Beater. Cheers 👍🏻👍🏻

Really cool dial with that PR indicator, but the rest of the dial I consider it, still, too empty. Yup, definitely a BB :) Cheers, Steve!

you could easily mistake it for a $ 200 seiko

Another great video man. It is a great looking piece and a good choice, it's difficult to believe it's 9 years old. I do love the sweep on the spring drive. A Brave Beater indeed... :)

Seeing the four of them lined up (skx, marian, gs sd and the darth) made me realize (once again) that Seiko manages - starting the the same starting point/origin (more or less) - to create such unique and full of personality individual pieces that can individually stand alone as icons. Amazing brand!
@BraveBeaters3 жыл бұрын
And I do follow your lead on this one, I think they are all niched and loved by different audiences because they have different personalities and purposes in a way. Still I will make a video on how to cheat a seiko collection by getting directly the marine master :D

I hate you,,, this is actually the only watch in the world, that I'd rather have, than my Omega smp 300,, I really wish, you hadn't shown me this,,,, I'm such a fan of the spring drive, and literally didn't know, they did a diver like this,,,... OMG, that sweeping seconds hand, is sheer perfection,, This is the number one brave beater, imho.. All the best Andrei,, (now I'm fed up, !!! Lol )
@BraveBeaters3 жыл бұрын
:)))))))) good one John, I almost agree, I still think the SMP is the better one. judging from the size perspective. from the finish perspective, a fresh / new GS can beat any watch.

I’m waiting for GS to make a 40mm diver with the new Hi Beat movement. When oh when??
@BraveBeaters3 жыл бұрын
Amin to that :D
@logwind3 жыл бұрын
been waiting years. I'd take it with any movement.

really enjoy seeing this watch with some actual wear marks on it, really adds a lot more character to the watch!

true :)
@ChawnCrawley2 жыл бұрын
The most amazing thing is that all these watch manufacturers can’t get it through their heads that the 40mm sizing used in the 60’s was spot on then, and now.
@BraveBeaters2 жыл бұрын
Agree. japan - moderate wrists still large watches...
@leevancleef4512 жыл бұрын
Yeah if you have female wrists..
@Marshal773 ай бұрын
Amen to that. Its a shame really, this GS would be the best diver if it would be 40mm watch.

Very amazing watch! I would prefer the style of the MM, but I have a lot of respect for the spring drive movement! Love the small eyes 🤣
@BraveBeaters3 жыл бұрын
Totally agree! In fact this GS made me appreciate more my MM. :D

The springdrive is stunning, it's an incredible achievement from Seiko! Nevertheless I don't like the continuous run of the second hand.
@BraveBeaters3 жыл бұрын
It feels in a way strange, the continuous sweep seem to look ''electronic'', less mechanic.

Wow you had that for 9 years? I didn’t even know the SBGA229 was around that long. I just got mine yesterday. They discontinued it I think as it’s not on their site anymore. Have you serviced yours?
@BraveBeaters2 жыл бұрын
It is an old good looking piece. yes. It was serviced revently and It runs very good. Congrats for the purchase :)
@ripperx4442 жыл бұрын
@@BraveBeaters how was the service experience? Is the accuracy still spot on or does the 9R65 fade over time?
@ph69jbl Жыл бұрын
@@ripperx444 before and after service zero seconds per day :) (sbga029 was launched in 2008. This particular one is from 2011)

Just wondering what is the accuracy after 9 years and has it ever been serviced?

Hi Tim, it was quite accurate having no service.

Too big. Needs to be under 42
@luxman94633 жыл бұрын
Hand too big and ugly, markers on dial too small. Clasp on bracelet is crap. Make a few changes and this watch is virtually unbeatable.
