ABOUT SOUTHERN CHARM:
This season on Southern Charm, Kathryn looks to take her place at the top of the social hierarchy, next to the matriarch of Charleston, Patricia; while managing a new house, new boyfriend and new sense of self. Cameran accepts her life as a mother and struggles to find a work-life balance that allows her to keep her edge. Craig has a renewed sense of self and hires a personal assistant to keep him on track. Austen is in a new relationship with Madison, and working on getting his beer distributed in Charleston. Shep, skeptical of Austen’s new relationship, is still flying solo but learning the art of responsibility by becoming a puppy dad to a new dog, aptly named Little Craig. Chelsea settled down with a long-distance boyfriend and renovated her new house on James Island. Naomie has a new relationship and began her own company. Eliza works to find her place in the group, especially when her past alliances come into light.

Can't stand Shep Rose. He is one huge doofus. He thinks he is above everyone. I don't know why, because he comes off like a real jerk, especially to Craig. He is disrespectful to women.. I believe Cameran when she says, he has an issue with "Deep Anger." I've seen it on the show. I like Shep. He's jovial, intelligent and charismatic. BUT the night life is what lowers him. The drinking is aging him rapidly. And I think this snobbish above all ground he stands on with others is an inward insecurity bc of his lack of ambition. Amanda Charleboi...you may be white and I hope no one ever called you the word but according to historical documents WT was lower than a slave simply because this group was given every advantage to do better because of their skin color but made a conscious choice not to do so. Original narratives by slaves state their owners, in some instances, encouraged their slaves to taunt WT without any repercussions. It was a status term among whites which this young man still uses. I have been careful how the people on this show trace their ancestry. I believe this young man holds this young woman in less regard than others who have the same pedigree. I suggest you read the book “White Trash” by Issenberg (I forget her first name) where she follows the word. This was not the only derogatory term used but many others that whites used to humiliate other whites as well. Then there are terms used by blacks to slur lower class whites as well.
