The death count from devastating floods that have ravaged southern Brazil for days reached 100. Nearly 400 municipalities have been affected by the worst natural calamity ever to hit the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Search and rescue teams were evacuating people trapped in their homes in the state capital of Porto Alegre and other cities and towns. Porto Alegre is home to some 1.4 million people and the larger metropolitan area has more than double that number. The state's Guaiba River, which runs through Porto Alegre, reached historic levels and officials warned that five dams were at risk of rupturing.

Interessante que a reportagem só mostra os militares, quando nós sabemos que a grande ajuda veio dos voluntários civis. Os militares estão ajudando sim, mas chegaram bem mais tarde. Se nós fossem os civis, a quantidade de mortos seria muito maior.

Zero response from fed gov for more than 9 days. The military got there with very few people and 3 helicopters. No boats. Took them 9 days to bring boats and half were broken in7 minutes. Military trucks were stuck on the road, had to be rescued by farmers. Totally umprepared

Theres more than 7 counties totally underwater and now it will be more as the rain came back yesterday at full blast and the river water is not going down as the wind is bringing it back. Yeah because the us is not racist at all... racism occurs everywhere 2mil people were affected by this including children who are getting abused in the shelter. Do you really think they all deserved this???
