Worth mentioning GamesCare is aiming to support the indie game market for the Mega Drive with the Neptune, they will apparently facilitate distribution of developer kits and other tactics to help develop the independent retro gaming scene

Lady Decade sure loves Brazilian gaming scene... for a foreigner, she knows it very well.

Tec Toy is a company that is very dear to us. They try so hard to get back into the gaming business! And Tec Toy's relationship with Sega is deep, old and loyal! Even the Japanese recognize this and maintain the production rights to old Sega products to these days. This “love” for a company that was almost destroyed by competition to the point of having a partner so passionate about Sega that he put money out from his own pocket to help Sega(and it was succeeded for a while) and after that he just forgave the debt! Incredible! His name is/was Isao Okawa. I see the same passion in Tec Toy! It's an unbelievable story!

Neptune actually being released is major. Imagine how many Sega fans will want to export it.

My favourite Sega Brazil story is the one about the criminal who was holding people hostage with a Sega Master System Light Phaser (with the cord clipped off). 😂

I swore Brazil is Sega's paradise. Tec-Toy still supporting the Master System & Genesis/Mega Drive even after all these years. Now the Neptune aka 32X but as a console now truly exists in some way is interesting.

When I was a kid, the Sega Saturn wasn’t available. The stores were supposed to have it, but we went once a month for about a year to Toys “R” Us and they never once had it in stock. They always told us they had one for us, but they never even received.

I do hope they open this up for global distribution. I know at least two dozen friends that would pick this up.

I'm brazilian and being honest this was something I would expect coming from Tectoy, not an unknown company. It baffles me nobody thought of this before, I mean, if it was never released then no one has rights to the design and name of the prototype. lol SUPPOSING it will actually be released, with all promised features, this will most likely be the greatest retro related release of the last 10-15 years, the only thing I think comes close is the invention of the Everdrives. This is much, much better than those "Mini" consoles that dominated the retro scene a few years ago. A SNES Mini or Megadrive Mini is pretty cool I'll give you that, but all they do is run roms. They don't accept real cartridges, original controllers, let alone add-ons like the Sega CD. These Minis only have HDMI output too, which makes it too difficult to use them with CRTs thus breaking the immersion of playing in real hardware even further. Then, there's the fact they're releasing an forgotten prototype, a piece of history, in fully functional form. This is enough to make any collector or retro gamer squeal with delight. hahah This is no different than releasing, *TODAY* , a functional 3DO M2, SNES CD, Jaguar CD All-in-one, Taito WOWOW, etc. If it ever gets released, and doesn't cost an eye, it's insta-buy for me! I do own a Mega Drive 3 (brazilian equivalent of Genesis 2), and a Sega CD model 2, but I don't own a 32X or Everdrive, both of which are just too expensive right now. I would happily trade my MD for a Neptune. I would just paint it black, stick a Sega decal on it and call it a day. hahah I bet it would look amazing with my Sega CD! 🥰

Well, better late than never :D The main concern here in Brazil is the price of the Neptune. It has not been revealed yet, but GamesCare is kown for their expensive price tags when we talk about selling old games and console maintenance (although their service is really first class). The consensus here is that the Neptune is gonna cost an surreal amount of money, but hey... a man can dream, right? Thank you for your work, I love your content! Keep it coming!

As a Brazilian, I will give a small addition to this information, here we had a law called "market reserve" that prohibited the import of foreign products, everything sold in electronics It had to be manufactured here, that's why what we called famiclones(famicon clones) were extremely popular, since Nintendo's copyrights didn't matter under Brazilian laws at the time, To compete with this, Tectoy partnered with Sega since either Sega accepted this partnership or there would be clones of the master system as well as the famicon, as the master was manufactured legally In Brazil, copyright rules were normally applied at that time, hence the relationship between sega and Tectoy, the market reserve also caused thousands of clones of other products As for computers, IBM's at the time had at least 10 manufacturers who cloned their models

I've spent alot of time in Brazil, they love KoF and Tekken alot. Whatever happens I'll always treasure my memories of Brazil and the friendships I've made there to this day..Been a few years, time for another visit sometime!

I'm Brazilian, and I was refreshing your channel for a couple of days, waiting for this video since I saw the new Neptune announcement. I saw it and told myself: 'That's a video for Lady Decade.'

I'm brazilian and before SNES, Master System won in Brazil, Master System was my first console. After this, the history was almost the same of the all world, but Tectoy never stopped, and this still exist in parallel with the moderns consoles. And i love this, in my opinion this behavior should be an example in all world, deliver the old product in hands of some partner and call the indies to develop new games while you focus on the new and more modern. The big companies should learn this. For example, i'd a lot to have a Psvita, if Sony had some partner like Tectoy, Psvita could still alive. By the way Tectoy started to sell a new mini modern portatil console with windows 11 few days ago. Tectoy always try something new even with all difficult that the country offer.

If at all possible, I’m getting one. I ALWAYS wanted a Neptune! I thought that would have been a stronger release than the add ons SEGA did give us.

I don't know what took me so long to finally watch this when I saw it show up in my recommendations but I'm glad I saw it. I have only known about the Sega Neptune thanks to AVGN and I didn't really know anything about it besides that it was planned and it was a 32-bit system. I didn't realize that what the actual plan was was to have the 32x and the Genesis all in one console without needing to get attachment. I feel like this new Neptune could end up being maybe some kind of niche project. People will buy because you can play retro games on it and that's cool at all, but said cartridges are not going to be made anymore cuz they haven't been made for a long time so there's not going to be as many people buying it of course.

Finally something to make me think good things about my country again. Also I'm glad this video showed up to me only 5 hours after released.

Brazilian here, I didn’t knew about this console release, so thank you for covering this release, I gonna check it out for sure. FPGA hardware is hard to buy and being imports usually they cost a kidney here, so hopefully the Neptune is more affordable being made here.
