Thank you for the short tour to your charming home-city. I had only been to Moscow and - to St. Petersburg, where my good friend Vera lives. I appreciated it a lot when you showed Dostoyevsky's statue, I love his books. Brazo de Mercedes's is my sister's favourite cake. It's more than just a cake though since it represents the blending of Filipino and Spanish culinary traditions. You've done well, it looks tasty for your first try. PS: You and your mum resemble each other a lot, you easily can pass for as sisters. I love that you were named after your aunt Olga which only shows the special and loving relationship between them two.

The manager there are Russians; in IMS Academy his name is Artyom (Artem). Nice roll, Olya. I have a tip for you. You should put 1/4 teaspoon of cream of tartar to the egg whites before you beat it. The cream of tartar will make your meringue stable and thick like what you do with pavlova. If you don't have cream of tartar, you may substitute it with 1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice to the egg whites before you beat it. It will serve as a stabilizer. The consistency of your beaten egg whites should be in the "stiff peak stage." What you did was "soft peak stage." You did not put a stabilizer (cream of tartar or lemon juice) on the egg whites and you did not beat it until it reached the stiff peak stage that's why your meringue collapsed and very thin, which made it look like a sans rival and not brazo de mercedez. One more tip. You should put a tablespoon of cornstarch in the custard mix and vanilla extract to make it more full and aromatic at the same time before you cook it in the double boiler. Lemon and vanilla go perfectly well together.The consistency of the custard should be semi-firm and not runny. It's something like what you see in our Filipino leche flan. Happy baking!

Good afternoon cousin Olya and family 😊 Thank you for the mini city tour of Staraya Russa 😍 Well done for making the cake 🍰👍🤩 You can reduce the sweetness or richness of the cake by reducing the amount of condensed milk and adding some cornstarch (1 ½ tablespoon dissolved in 1 tablespoon water) while cooking the custard to thicken and help the custard to set. Yes I believe someone recommended the sites of chef RV and Simpol. There are many more but these 2 are easy to follow. It’s also nice to see the travel blogs of Chef RV so you get to see other places like Japan, Korea etc. it’s a big world out there to discover. Japanese and Korean food is also amazing..

Travel stories never gets old, it's the best life souvenir than any material things in the world, and it's best when shared with families. Try to watch other filipino chef,, they are very helpful and accommodating to teach foreigner about filipino dishes,, every region in the Philippines had unique dishes thats why you wont tired of learning them. We also wish you could visit the Philippines to taste most of our exotic fruits and experience Filipino hospitality, would advise you and your family to visit the Philippines on Christmas time, you will love it.

⭐️ that’s so impressive! I think you should cooked cream some more next time. On the meringue, add cream of tartar powder. Add sugar a little at a time. Looks great, like those made here, and Im sure it tastes good.

Your town just like some other parts of Germany, very peaceful & quiet. We lived there for 20 years so peaceful. I can walk at night w/o watching every moved. We’re now back in USA & close my doors all the time.

congratulations Olya for getting 5K subscriber on your channel keep up a good work. I'm glad to see that a Russian woman like you love our Pilipino food and you try to make it. Keep watching some Pilipino vlog specially the one who make Pilipino bread and later on you will improve your knowledge about it. Try cheese cake, egg pie, puto use only flour for making puto. Maybe someday i will visit Russia if God's will. Is there any hotel near your place? So i can visit you and the rest of of your family. Now i know the Russian alphabet and studying some basic russian language.
