Can't believe you haven't read many self published authors! Totally check out the SPFBO finalists as a start. Those are some quality books right there. Orconomics, won SPFBO a few years back and its probably my favorite self pub I've read. It's a cheeky, sarcastic, trope filled comedy that takes a bunch of DnD tropes to the extreme

Hey Mr. Durfee, I am Rishabh Chakraborty, 15 yrs old, a typical high school student. I live in India. I have always been a huge fan of Epic and high fantasy. I had always wanted to write my own epic Fantasy too. However as aforementioned, I am an Indian, the story I have in my head is well fitted for an Indian demographic. Do you think it is possible for me to publish it outside India?

IIRC Greene said he made around five bucks per unit, or more. If half of his 322,000 current subscribers bought BOP he made nearly a million bucks in six months. If he really only made a dollar each sale that is still over $160,000 (for a novella). Brandon Sanderson's royalty rate is about three bucks per hardcover and 60 cents for paperbacks, and his average profit is about 39K per book (but he's working for Doherty not a class act like Simon & Schuster). If only 10% of Greene's subscribers purchased BOP then Daniel was knocking on Sanderson's door with 32K if Greene's making only a buck a book. All the Sanderson numbers are internet figures easy to find and probably as trustworthy as a WH press secretary. I didn't buy or read BOP but Greene did sell me on self publishing.
