We went diving in Michigan and thankfully found another yoga mat for the tent - now we each have a little more cushion for the nights we go camping. We also found our entire dinner for free in the trash! Thank you for helping keep our state clean. We pay a10 cent deposit on cans and some glass here, so take them back to the stores for money. Glad you like it state. We love it here!

Yes me too! I guessed right that they were going to Lakeport State Park. That's about an hour from me. I'm so glad that they got to see one of the Great Lakes.

@@denisehaley9271 If you read the before comment it says Michigan has 5 great lakes. I stated that Michigan actually only has 4 of them that touches it. Yes there are 5 great lakes but Michigan technically only has 4 of them. Lake Ontario touches Canada and New York. Not sure that you were taught how to read correctly.

I grew up in Michigan. If one has never seen the Great Lakes, they cannot imagine how big they are. I'm enjoying you road trip! This has been really cool!

Thank you for allowing us to explore with you. I am really enjoying your trip. It has been such a hot 🔥 🥵 summer, I feel much cooler in Michigan. Your dumpster dinner was quite healthy, too. That dinner looked delicious. There's a little raccoon somewhere hoping that you will visit again soon. I wish Aldi and TJ's would have a separate trash can for edible stuff.. The economy is so bad now and I know families are really struggling to afford groceries. Glad you found a great dinner - it's SO cool!

Don't underestimate the lakes in Michigan. They can be disceptive. Look calm with wicked undertows. Also be careful around strangers in any state you travel. Just sound advice. Happy and safe travels.

Eggs don’t need to be refrigerated so that’s a plus and all the fruit too, great diving. Enjoy the remainder of your vacation 😊

Eggs in the United States DO need to be refrigerated because they are washed. Washing removes the protective layer on eggs that keep out things such as salmonella, etc. if you get them directly from a farm that does not wash eggs then they do not need refrigeration.

Eggs aren't bleached 😆 The color of the egg depends on the color of the chicken that's laying it. White chickens lay white eggs.

@@hesabutton6899 The color of the egg depends on the BREED of the chicken. We have about 30 chickens and depending on the breed of each one get green, brown, beige, white, and even some pink eggs.Once in awhile we even get speckled eggs, which are pretty fun.

The squeal I let out when I saw you guys were in Ann Arbor! I run an Ann Arbor dumpster diving account on IG, and I've been diving where you guys were diving! 🙂 Side note about the grocery stores - there is a pretty extensive food recovery network in the area through an organization called Food Gatherers. Lots of local grocery stores donate their goods to distribute locally.

We just came back from a road trip with our small caravan, Brisbane to Rockhampton, Queensland. We are nearly 70, and 73. Too old for camping on the ground but that is how we used to do it. 50+ years ago we did a couple of camping trips in New Zealand with just a 2-man tent without a floor in it, North Island a few times and once right around the South Island. I was born on the shores of Lake Ontario, a smaller Great Lake but still big enough to feel like the ocean. In adult life I have had the real Pacific Ocean and the Tasman Sea. Keep travelling, I love the way you are doing it. And thank you for taking me along for the ride 😊

18 and newly married, we were in Yosemite tent camping when we heard that same rustling in the middle of the night. Only our 'raccoon' was a big ol' bear! He pried open our all metal Coleman cooler and had a picnic just feet away from us! We watched him walk around to other campers, a couple in pup tents got their toes sniffed and he even stood up to look into the windows of an RV! And ewww, he left slobber all over our now broken cooler and wow did it stink! Your DD dinner looked great, it's sad that perfectly good food goes to waste. If the store could put that food in a big cooler people could go there and find a good healthy dinner like our bear! TFS

Good for you kids. You're having some fun, adventure and saving a bit of money, as well as making people aware of the incredible amount of waste that exists. A fun thing to do on the beaches of Lake Michigan, is to walk the beach at night with an ultraviolet/purple light/black light and watch tons of rocks and seashells glow. An Awesome display of nature.

You two are just a delight to watch! Do you follow Freakin Frugal? They get tons of food from the ALDI dumpsters-I don't think they EVER pay for food. I would have grabbed ALL those kiwis and bananas and melons. I am so glad you are taking this road trip and letting us follow along. And thank you for cleaning up at the campsite. I'm so happy you two love Michigan, I have lived in Flint my entire life, love watching your videos. My husband and I have a hunting camp in the Upper Peninsula and during a thunderstorm, a bear got into our cooler and stole eggs, bacon and a gallon of milk.

Awesome finds today. Your dinner looked really good. There are so many things that you can do with eggs 🥚. With the weather changing now, you will be able to dumpster dive on your way home 🏡. I spent over 20 years living in the beautiful blue water area! It has some retry incredible areas to visit. I always found great finds behind the local grocery stores. Especially the iGA’s. They were very considerate and set items out next to the dumpsters for people in need. I was a single Mom of four and the manager would call to set us up with freebies. He was a very kind man. I suppose we were the talk of the town, during our terrible crisis, but they didn’t just talk. They reached out and helped! The benefit of small town living! ❤

Hi guys! So happy you stopped by our beautiful state! The Great Lakes are magnificent. I never get tired of seeing them. I'm so happy you went to Lakeport State Park and saw the lake and my favorite beach there. My granddaughters love going rock picking there. Happy that you could find a free meal!
