And yeah, right now Mei is probably the only one who has full control of her Herrscher powers, but before that, there was a talk between Mei and her Herrscher, so, at the end, both agreed to become one in order to save Kiana.

So if Kiana made the bat (she didn't she just had it stored in a portal, so it's just a bat that can deflect gunfire and missiles) that bat would be a divine key

Mei didn't sacrifice the world for Kiana, she sacrificed everything she had for Kiana. A little explanation, by joining world serpent Mei gave up her current relationship with her friends now working with Anti entropy, by becoming a Herrscher she gave up her humanity, and the very fight that is animated and played out in game is her giving up her relationship with Kiana. No one was really harmed by Mei's choice, no one died, no one had to get unnecessarily hurt, the whole Kiana vs Mei fight was started by Kiana, it kinda was the best outcome.

Mei just made the optimal decision, and achieved her mission to a certain extent ... and if Kiana is going to keep putting herself in danger to protect her loved ones from the Honkai, then she will eliminate the honkai so she doesn't have to keep fighting. ..

@@randomguyblank1616 really depends on what your interpretations of World Snake is. They were the ones that set up that Honkai energy bomb in Arc City that Kiana accelerated her demise disposing of. They were willing to risk every one of the millions of the lives in Arc City because they were under the impression that it would save them. World Snake has this feel to them that they would sacrifice every soul living on the planet if it meant the ultimate defeat of the Honkai. When you look at it this way, by joining World Snake, it literally can be interpreted that Mei is sacrificing the world to save Kiana.

@@llenn9569 yes, ultimately Mei's mission was completed (although I'm not even sure she knows that yet), but in the end Kevin still ultimately lied to Mei in order to get her to join World Snake. He promised Mei that if she joined that World Snake would save Kiana, but in the end all they did was buy time for Kiana to save herself by defeating Sirin, which stabilized the HoV powers within her. That was NOT Kevin's plan - he wanted to "save" Kiana by taking the HoV power from her, or, at the very least, capture and experiment on her the way Shicksal was going to. That's out the window now, though, because with the way Kiana's powered up she's now going to be a gigantic thorn in his and World Snake's side.

Well not much a villian... Spoilers.. Kevin told mei that she had to become a herrscher to save kiana. But also to join the world serpent to keep kiana out of harms way. Kiana is the type to risk her life for anyone and everyone. And as long as honkai exist she will continue to fight. Thus kevin proposed that she joins him in his battle against honkai and eradicate the honkai mainly the future herrscher before kiana even has a chance to join the battle. Basically taking on the role kiana would take on beforer kiana dose herself. And ofc mei knew kevin was right and didnt see any other way to protect kiana so she took him up on that and in order to fulfill her new task she has to be away from kiana as well.

@@kamisorimobiusu3338 here's the thing, though - Kevin lied to Mei when he said that World Snake was the only think that could save Kiana (and not AE or Shicksal). In the end all they did was bought Kiana time to save herself by defeating Sirin and stabilizing HoV in the process - and that was NOT Kevin's plan. Kevin wanted to take the HoV powers from Kiana and use them for his own purposes. Kiana stabilizing HoV was probably his worst nightmare as she will now be a gigantic thorn in his side, not to mention even before this he's already begun losing control of Mei and she's starting to call him out on his BS (leading him to introduce her to the Elysian Realm). The question is what motivation does she even have to stay with World Snake, especially if/when she and Kiana reconcile? Ultimately the games Kevin played with Mei, toying Kiana's saving in front of her, is going to blow up in his face, and united Mei and Kiana are probably going to be the ones that see to it.

Well there was never really anything about the third herrscher wanting to save sirin. In fact going of of the mangas. Specifically AE invasion. U can say that The 3rd herrscher too also had a liking to kiana. Not sirin.

What makes this one so heartbreaking, though, is Mei is literally turning her back on and betraying Kiana, and we're watching Kiana's heart shatter into millions of pieces in the process. It's true Mei's doing this to save Kiana's life, but her methods here are so flawed. Mei's entire goal here was to hurt Kiana so bad that a permanent fracture would be created in their friendship such that Kiana would permanently hate her and never chase after her again. However, as the fight progresses and Kiana keeps escalating it to the point of channeling her HoV powers, all in an effort to convince Mei to stay - the very thing that is killing her and what Mei's trying to prevent - is when Mei realizes this entire fight was a gigantic mistake because Kiana would never hate her, but at this point she's committed to finishing the fight and leaving. This pretty much leads to Mei's self-loathing and depression for the next several chapters, because she realizes if she herself hurts this badly, then Kiana must hurt that much more, and she's the one responsible for it. In later chapters, when the next enemy throws this whole thing in Mei's face to taunt her about the suffering and despair she caused Kiana, she outright admits she handled her departure in the absolute worst way possible.

Its not directly that kiana using herrscher powers is killing her, its escalating it sure, but shed die either way... Reason to why kiana is dying is cuz she has 3 cores inside her, which makes her body unstable and unable to resist all the corruption (hov took meis core back in chapter 7ish) Mei becomes hot to create a new herrscher core and thus destroying the core within kiana, giving her more time... Just thought id clarify that point

It shows Meis desparation to save kiana, and in doing so it rings true when mei says "the world means nothing to me without you" and "youre the most important person to me"... Mei is giving up her place in the world to save the person she cares most for... She is willing to accept she wont be friends with kiana anymore, nor ever be able to return, as long as it means kiana survives. People bash mei for this but imo they look at it from a logical pov... While mei is too emotional and desperate to have that logical pov (she understands her choice is flawed, but in her eyes its the only good option presented to her in terms of kianas survival)

@@TheMakushimirianKiana’s problems are actually much more complicated than “3 cores are killing her”, because K423 should be able to handle 6 cores without any problems. The real problem is Kiana is at war with Sirin for control over K423. Her internal struggle with her alter ego is what’s causing Honkai energy to be out of control in her body, which is why 3 cores are killing her. Once Kiana defeats Sirin, this is no longer an issue. This is why, as much as what Mei did sucks, it was important, because it gave Kiana the time she needed to defeat Sirin and gain control of her body (even if that wasn’t Kevin’s ultimate plan for Kiana - and his plan certainly wasn’t for her to become HoF).

I disagree with every single difference you mentioned between Homura and Mei. It is the exact same situation. Madoka wasn't "saved" at the end of the show, she sacrificed herself for the world and only pretended to be okay with it. She admits that herself in Rebellion, did you even watch it? Now does that mean Homura is right? Idk, but it is the same thing Mei did. In fact I daresay Mei's situation is worse since she had the help of some extremely shady people to achieve her goal which Homura didn't.

​@@wisefelipe I did watch it. And liked it immensely. You're not wrong, I never talked about Madoka in my comment; I was talking about Homura. Note that Homura could have just wished for Madoka to be saved, but she wished to go back and save her with her own hands. While appearing to be for selfless reasons at first, the fact she chose to do it personally means she wished to absolve herself of guilt instead of guaranteeing Madoka's salvation.If that isn't even a bit selfish, I don't know what is. She keeps saving Madoka and resulting in her death over and over, building up karma... but keeps doing so because she cannot let go. As you say, in the end, she didn't even manage to save Madoka, so all of it was in vain. She even dragged Madoka out of the Law of cycles in another act of selfishness against Madoka's wishes to rewrite the world again. As for Mei, she doesn't want to join the World Serpent and be separated from Kiana, but knows she doesn't have any way to save Kiana without their help. Mei is a very fragile person who has always relied on her friends and Kiana, so being separated just to save Kiana was definitely terrible. She still did so against Kiana's wishes; which seems selfish at first glace, was to ultimately perform a selfless act of saving Kiana in the best way she could at the moment. She does so even knowing she is selfishly going against Kiana's wishes and is well aware of how selfish her intentions are just to save the one dearest to her. So please don't take it wrongly; I don't hate Madoka or Homura. I'm merely commenting on how it's ironic how Homura performs an act of pure selfishness with selfless intentions, while Mei performs an act of pure selflessness with selfish intentions.

Well not really... The herrscher of thunder and basically became one. The old herrscher of thunders persona dies after giving herself up to mei. And in a sense u can say the same for mei. She no longer is mei but afterwords is reborn as the lighting queen.

@@Airier Well when she was a kid she obtained a huge power up and that might've caused a side effect. Though the real reason was probably because her official birthday and age are not real cause her orphanage randomly put January 1, 2000 as her birthdate when they found her after the 2nd Eruption.
