I'm 45. This movie defined my childhood, and now I'm showing it to my five year old daughter and she's learning the moves.

I just wanna thank my Mama for taking me and lil sis to see this in '84. It may seem corny to some, but this film is how Hip Hop entered my life...REAL TALK.

1984...has to be the most 80'est year ever in terms of fashion & music. The best time ever. It was a whole different planet then.

i had tears in my eyes watching this.....i remember these days i was like 11 yrs old. just was fun dance battles. then came crack and violence 2 yrs later. so sad....

Watching this now with a mix of emotions. Brings back memories of being a kid and my much older brother introducing me to this movie. He loved it. Seeing him trying to breakdance around the house. Happy, funny memories but tinged with sadness after losing him this year. Seems silly but this is the film that will always make me think of him.

That final scene gives me goosebumps every single time

This was the first movie that gave young people a sense of power channeled through their creativity and passion. It also brought African-American swag to the rest of the globe that exists to this day!!

Going back and watching these films has shown me how much life has gotten bad and how we have all grown to dislike each other. Its crazy. Makes you wonder how it all happened, but at least this(and your memories) are proof that its possible.

Never gets old. Being a B Boy myself in the 80s, this movie and beat street inspired me, and made me a better B Boy. I really do miss those days. Someone time travel me back.

That's cool that they included the 2 guys and girl from the dance off. Shows that they were able to settle things on the dance floor than squash the beef to go on to make some good money together in the final scene. I love it.

I absolutely love it. That was an awesome time in life when people could express their love for dance in that fashion without being criticized. It is nice to see someone else enjoyed that time in life as well. Thank you.

This is a great example of ozone, turbo and jelly standing up for what they believe in and making the people at the theater stage realize that music is music, any style of music and it should be appreciated by the people who represent it. Ozone stood his ground by showing the people there that we are people who have a different type of music, but dont discriminate against someone for doing what they love. Give someone a chance to prove that their type of music is just as important as anyone else's music. You don't never know what someone can do if you don't let them show you their talent. Everyone is talented in their own way so let their talent shine and who knows what can happen. The people who shunned you might actually end up needing you in their group and hopefully everything works out for the best for everyone!

Classic film and Soundtrack. Kelly was HOT! While my School friends lusted after Sandy in Greece(Olivia Newton John) - I wanted to marry Kelly. Groundbreaking film and still so relevant today. Thanks for posting.

Man i remember going to the movies to watch this,,the dance scenes were dope.The story line a bit corny, but who cares,,it was about the jams and breaking,,It was an awsome era to be part of. I,m in my 50,s and will occasionally make an atttempt to make a few popping moves at a wedding ,lol,,its in my blood.
