I don't understand the hate for this pick from packers fans. We needed a versatile Lineman and the tackle depth really is pretty bad in this draft outside the picks selected already. Everybody wanted a corner but corner is really deep and I think we take one in the 3rd/4th.

@@Champange10 For sure, who knows Gute might trade back up early tomorrow like he did 2 years ago for Watson and go get Dejean or Kool-aid. My view on that is I think they will trade up earlier in the 2nd round, but it will be for Edgerrin Cooper instead. I don't think he is there at 41 given the weak LB class

CB class is deep but not good at the top. There is a reason the CBs fell. I liked Barton, but he projects to center long term. As does Zach Tom. Tom is moving to center if this guy works out IMO. If he cant he can work on it at guard for a year.

It was expected to either be a corner or a O linemen, its not an "exciting" pick because its a linemen, but these are the guys who buy the guys behind them the time and space to make exciting plays in game. I love the idea of having Love behind a brick wall every snap, and if one part of the wall gets chipped then we can fix it before the next snap.

Jordan Morgan being the pick here is not surprising, and when I saw the pick come in, I referenced back to your mocks! His stats are really good for a projected LT in the NFL, and only allowing 2 sacks in over 700 snaps was VERY impressive! He IMO was a big reason for Arizona’s turnaround as a college football program too being that he was the blindside blocker, and did very well in that role, and I don’t think they would’ve been as successful on offense without him. His versatility is also something the Packers CLEARLY value in O-linemen, as judged by the success of Elton Jenkins & Zach Tom, 2 guys that both can play tackle or guard seamlessly, and have both been very important pieces to have when needing to shuffle the line up to compensate for injury/absences! He’s a pick with plenty of potential at the NFL level, addresses an important need on the O-line, and IMO was the more important pick to make in regards to the future of the offense, both this season, and potentially in Jordan Love’s career! Now, let’s hope he pans out into an all-pro LT in the NFL, or LG, if that ends up being the better fit!
@raybrean9889

This is exactly what we needed. We need to protect Jordan Love and Jordan Morgan is not only a tackle but can also play guard. Jordan Morgan is a decent pass blocker but more importantly he is great at run blocking. Josh Jacobs is about to have his best season ever. Jordan Morgan has the feet to be a great zone blocker and we run a zone concept. So he’s a great fit. There will be chances to get some playmakers on defense tomorrow, but there won’t be anyone like Jordan Morgan on the board tomorrow. We either got him or we didn’t get the OLine help we wanted. With a lot of defensive talent undrafted so far we added some talent along the OLine and can still get some solid defensive talent in the 2nd round with 2 of our draft picks. Jordan Morgan can play multiple positions. Record set for most offensive players taken round 1. We have two 2nd round and two 3rd round draft picks, plenty of great defensive players available tomorrow. I think playing multiple positions is the key thing so the more I think about it, this was an amazing pickup by Brian Gutekunst. Go Pack Go 💚💛

The Packers don’t care about arm length. Morgan has about the same length arms as Bryan Bulaga. James Campen’s blocking techniques don’t rely on arm length because they don’t go for the initial punch. The wait for the rusher to attack and then use the hug technique. Morgan already was using some of those techniques, which makes him a ready made starting tackle for the Packers.

@@inhumanjoey310 While there is plenty of OLine out there, who else is there at OT? Saumataia is very developmental, Rosengarten is quite light (admittedly so was ZT tho) and Amegadjie is injured and only played at a lower level. OT made a bucket of sense to me looking at the board and they evidently preferred Morgan over Guyton.

@@inhumanjoey310we have no blue chip OL talent after bhatiari is officially gone. Sure we could have swung 3-4 times in the middle rounds but if we end up with a bunch of Rhyans and runyan then we would just be spinning our tires. This is a good pick and good value seeing how the board fell to us with almost all offensive players going before us We will almost certainly target another center and a guard in this draft in the middle rounds. Our oline was our worst position group before this pick if you ask me. Signing josh Jacob's assured all this. I was hoping for a first round oline, too much synergy

Gute said he’s a tackle, why are people saying he has versatility to play guard? He didn’t play a snap at guard in college. Stop trying to be GM and listen to what Gute says

Gute never said that. He literally was asked what position he will be and he said "best 5". I showed that in this video lol

Relative to Gutes asserting putting BEST OL on field, is Meyers a HOF-C like Tom is boasted to be? Hell no!😮

I overreacted with this pick, as long as we can get dejean or kool-aid, then we got a steal lol

With the talent available, we take a Gaurd. Typical Green Bay. DeJean was sitting right there. Idiots. This guy would have been around next round. TJ Watt all over again.

If we don’t get cooper, I wouldn’t mind getting Kamren kinchens

It's hard to take you seriously when you can't spell highlights or Washington...

@@whenthemaskfalls8591spelling or not he's right about that, though I think it was a bad game and who knows if he didn't have an injury. Because he shut down the first defensive pick in this year's draft so let's hope that game he referred to was just a bad game due to him not being at 100 percent

How do you know he would even be a good guard? He has never played guard

He is a tackle. Stoned Latu of UCLA. Remember, Aaron Jones and Barry Sanders were too small. Experts do not know.
