It was wonderful to meet tennis ace, our very own Bengaluru boy, Rohan Bopanna, soon after his return from Wimbledon and being recently ranked World No. 7 for the second time in a decade. However, his constant travel on the circuit has meant that there are aspects of namma ooru that he hasn’t been able to explore yet, including Mavalli Tiffin Rooms in Lalbagh. And so we took it upon ourselves to introduce this icon to a Bengaluru tiffin legend over a leisurely, indulgent-breakfast conversation where we also caught a glimpse of his passion for coffee, and his role as the ambassador for the World Coffee Conference, to be held in India for the first time in our city in September.

Rohan, getting older. He is the same age as me. I used to follow his matches since his teenage years, reading about him in the newspaper. Rohan, Leander pair and Rohan Sania pair brought several grandslams to India. Happy to see him winning tournaments now. More power to you man. Thanks Kripal for bringing back those old memories

Sambhar in Karnataka has the balance of all the 5 Tastes ( Sweet, Salt, Bitter, Pungent & Sour), which is actually good because it doesn't make someone crave for some Taste after eating. I have noticed that, after eating 5 tastes in main meal in a controlled way, I never feel like having desserts after meal. So Karnataka sambar is when one wants to cut down on desserts. Sambhar in other places, probably tastes better or not, but it definitely has one dominant Taste.

Absolutely loved it. What a nice and warm person Rohan is. I watched his last game (Mutua Madrid Open ) where they lost to Karen and Andrey (6-3, 3-6, [10-3]. From now onwards I will not miss any of the marches/games where he is participating. What a stamina at 43 years ! Good luck Rohan and thanks Kripal for introducing him via your channel. Cheers.

What makes me sad is that none of the public even seems to know who Rohan Bopanna is! I'm sure everyone will recognise Kripal but not Rohan. Think even if a 2nd generation cricketer like Devdutt Padaikal had breakfast with Kripal, there would have been a mad rush. Pathetic when it comes to we Indians recognising other celebrities except cricketers. And that too Rohan Bopanna being a local man and he is not given much recognition is even more pathetic.
