@1:00 His mind connecting to Blair Underwood in a way that inspired him to become a lawyer is exactly why representation matters and how life can imitate/inspire art and vice versa. This is why funding these films that display Black people in unique situations playing different types of characters is important. His films will inspire the next generation to think bigger.

“Unique situations”?? Love what your message but, bruh Black Lawyers are winning out here.. There are 1.3 Million Black lawyers mama!! I feel as if, just portraying Black people across the spectrum, is best.. I’m literally Married to a Black attorney by the way..😂😂🤦🏽‍♂️ .. I go with her to her association meetings and see thousands of US their… mind you that’s just in my city!! JUST SHOW REAL BLACK IMAGES!! We are not gangsters and ghetto… it’s just wild..😂😂

@@moneymakingsim4314 he wasn't talking about Black lawyers when he said unique situations, he was talking about movies like They Cloned Tyrone. That movie is sci-fi and I agree with you, we need better films with images outside of being gangster/ghetto.

I agree with you to an extent. While Angela Yee annoyed me 70% of the time, the one thing that she did that I appreciated was that she did her homework regarding guest. If they had a book she read it, she knew the updated versions of their lives, she was always politically correct. You can tell that the men half ass most of these interviews.

@@jennaywilliams1024 We can go tick for tack , back and forth. The truth of the matter is The Haitian Revolution started a domino affect that showed how to regain power from your oppressor (the first black country to ever do so). So yes a movie showing that in its pure rawness would be great for the culture (black culture).
@jennaywilliams1024

@@atiproduces wrong answer lol It's tit for tat. Haitians hide their accents and literally call themselves n*****ers when they come here. I've never heard not near one claim negro It set off a domino effect. Yeah everything fell around y'all and y'all were marginalized just like african countries. Even to this day the dominicans are prepared to act on yt supremacys behalf Haiti is literally an isolated country where as no matter how much they desperately try to isolate us within our plight, there are too many people from every nation inspired by us and y'all still trying to figure out how to be better slaves lol

Loving this interview so far...DJ Envy asking if youre only going to do black production sounds gaslightish. Only because these other companies produce all movies, the money and full vision doesnt reach the talent as he said, deal structure. Raising capitol sounds like an uphill battle without the right circle of care in the beginning.
