Haason is the biggest issue. You go to a new job, and you show them why you deserve top pay. This is embarrassing. As for Rogers, he gets a pass. At the end of the day, he gave his new employer 35 million off of good faith. So this is a favor for favor. But also, this is supporting him.

Ian , you are spot on my man. 🫡 Rodgers missing 2 days because of a personal reasons is a nonissue. In fact, it gives the backup QBS the ability to take more reps. However, the entire Reddick situation is mind boggling. At least Saleh has spoken to him. Reddick at this point needs to get his extension pronto, like yesterday. Otherwise, it does not make business sense for Reddick to risk major injury with no further guaranteed money.

Should have played Huff more and extended him long ago. We either only have Reddick for 1 year OR give a massive deal to a 30 year old. Both worse options than Huff on an affordable deal. And Reddick is cheeks against the run so dont yall start with that BS lol

@@charzard1000 They did report that it was unexcused per Saleh ("two unexcused absences"). It is mandatory and he and Reddick will be fined. I don't believe its a great look for the leader especially as a result of last season and it is a way for them to start up with the new guys.

No Rodgers means more reps with the ones for Tyrod Taylor. So, that's a silver lining. However, I'm sure Rodgers knew the training camp schedule before he scheduled that event, so his absence sucks. As for Reddick: it sucks. If he said he would show up for minicamp and lied, it's a really bad look. It's also a bad look for JD to trade for another team's disgruntled headache. They should have extended Huff.

And I can totally see a bunch of things that would be more important than 2 days of practice when he's been there all offseason (remember, minicamp is no different from OTAs per se, just called something different).

@@charzard1000 Rodgers told the Jets months ago about the event, as Coach said, so there's that. There's one difference between minicamp and OTAs: OTAs are voluntary. Minicamp is mandatory, per the CBA. Rodgers will be fined, and he'll have no kick about it. Does missing minicamp mean a lot, big picture? No, except that intentionally missing an event that ALL players are required to attend is at best a bad look, and at worst calls Rodgers' leadership somewhat into question.

We got a relax here it’s mandatory minicamp for the league. This is two vets who are extremely good at what they do and we don’t play till September and we are in June not a big deal guys.

Rodgers and Reddick are the biggest stars on the team, they will be fine. In a weird way this will help the rest of the squad get into emergency mode incase R&R are not available for a game or two during the season. Tyrod needs the first team reps, GO JETS!!

Rodgers was there thru voluntary OTAs. Even tho it was unexcused, Saleh alluded to the media that Rodgers told them awhile ago he’d miss the 2 day mini camp. Plus it gives the other QBs a chance to show off what they got. As far as Reddick is concerned, it seems his contract still hasn’t been nailed down. No excuse to miss mini camp, especially since he originally said he’d be there. I know this is all the NY media is gonna be focusing on this week, but In the big picture tho, I’m not worried. Rodgers will be back. The team will be ready.

My thing is you keep mentioning the standard, and I understand that the great teams tend not to have as many headlines. But players wanting a new contract is nothing new. Multiple teams deal with it every year. Tee Higgins and Justin Jefferson this year. Multiple running backs last year. Deebo and a few others a few years ago. I’m not worried about this in the slightest because JD isn’t stupid and I find it impossible to believe that we weren’t aware he was gonna be holding out for a new contract. I find that almost impossible. Because I knew it once I saw he was on an expiring contract.

It was a bad trade from the start. They should have just paid Huff, restructured JFMs contract and have kept the pick. I'll take Huff, JFM and a third round pick over Reddick on an expiring any day. I don't want to see JD do something stupid like give him a huge contract and then not have the money to resign JJ or Hall because of it. I don't know what JDs issue is with resigning his own guys rather than outsiders but his track record says that we are going to see a lot of good homegrown talent walk for nothing.

Brady missed mini camp like 3 years in a row bro. Rodgers gets a pass for two dam days on mini camp. Especially when considering the massive pay cut he took. I gaurenteee it's a charity event. This is the 2nd time that the Jets picked up an old Hall of Fame quarterback from the Green Bay packers. First Brett Favre and now Aaron Rodgers. Favre turned out to be a disaster for the Jets, and I have a feeling that the same will happen with Rodgers. Here's my prediction.12 years from now, Jordan Love will leave the Packers after having a Hall of Fame career and a Super Bowl championship with the Packers. The Jets, after spending the next 12 years still looking for a franchise quarterback, will trade for Love out of desperation. Love will end up being the 3rd ex Green Bay quarterback to screw over the Jets.
