📝 Show Notes:
It's not everyday we get to talk to an emcee from LA who was the first Latina hip-hop artist to perform and release music internationally! We explore her journey and learn about distribution deals, Hip Hop culture, performing internationally and more!
Artist Bio:
Starting from freestyling in cyphers and open-mics at just 14 years old, Jroz released her debut solo album "Break Ground" in 2004. Partnering with DJ Ethos, she rocked 1-emcee and 1-dj sets across Los Angeles and the Inland Empire. Their mixtape "Beats N' Pieces" featured tracks from their journey. Jroz collaborated globally, from Mexico City to Moscow, releasing her third solo album "Portrait of a B-girl" produced by Nocturn, featuring the single "Roses" with DJ Ethos. She's a Project Blowedian on indie label Keep the Feel's releases like "Next Up 2 Bat." Other projects include "Quiet on the Set" with Destruct and features with 2Mex and Acid Reign. Jroz made history as the first female Hispanic from LA to perform in Mexico City, Macallan, Columbia, Venezuela, and Russia, fulfilling her vision of ground-breaking events.
