My daughter just finished her sophomore year at Florida State. She entered with a 75% Bright Futures scholarship. We put away $40,000 for her to go to college and she may even have money left over for graduate studies. Florida is quite possibly the best state to live in, work in and be educated in. I was born here and I fully intend to retire and die here. Why would I want to leave a place like this? No state income tax, low property taxes and low sales tax. I just hope we aren't overrun by liberals coming here and voting for the same BS policies and candidates they fled from.

As someone who went to Portland State, I am appalled at what happened to MY library that I WORKED at. Outside of maintaining a full-time job and volunteering, I spent my nights tutoring students who WANTED to succeed and seeing what (has) happened to it shattered my heart. Building an encampment on public property which is not designated as a "camp ground" without permission to do so is as illegal as people building a camp in your back yard without permission. Camping on the lawn has nothing to do with free speech nor assembling to air grievances. Say anything you want but imposing on others and threatening people is also a crime.

@@paulrob55 Floridians have elected DeSantis to office 5 times. In his last election he defeated the democRAT crist by the highest margin in over 40 years. Floridians have elected Republicans in control of not only the governor's office, but they elected Republicans in control of the Legislature and the Senate. The Campus is not the place to disrupt. Ever. Even if there is but 1 student who wants to concentrate in getting the degree then he/ she should be left in peace in order to try and gain that degree. Without fear or hindrance.
