The theme is atleast staying with the big 10, just different teams unfortunately, wont be the same

The theme was used as part of CBS' Big East football coverage along with the SEC since 1996.

What seems obvious to me is that sometime in the next 5 years you will have a College version of the NFL. The Big 10 and the ACC will be on one side and the SEC and Big 12 (or flip the Big 10 and 12 around) on the other like the AFC and NFC both will stretch from one coast to the other

@briandonegan8480 I think we are much more likely to see 2 big conferences the networks control in the B1G and SEC, with maybe a lesser conference in the Big 12, then everyone else. I think in 10 years, the networks will have 2 conferences of 24 teams each as the "new D1", then everyone else.

The big 12 may have the 3rd best football conference but they will shine in basketball as that is where they will reign by adding Colorado and Arizona.

Yeah Basketball is a whole different discussion while the Big 12 is 3rd or 4th in football. They are a much bigger force in Basketball and probably the top conference.

West Coast schools won’t have a huge adjustment like people think. At least for football. FOX has already said they’re not playing games held at home on the west coast at 9am. Michigan/OSU/Penn State get the highest share of those early kickoffs so when the west coast schools go on the road they’re most likely in the Big Noon time slot when playing those 3 schools. At most the west coast schools are going east 2-3 times a season in football. Coaches have also long said they hate late night kickoffs and prefer afternoon.

Yeah I was trying to keep the video about football without getting into basketball just because it's a lot different in terms of the power structure but you're right basketball was the main reason for their TV deal

FSU fan here: The ACC deal is a MESS! Equal money is rediculous when you have our brand and Clemson and UNC getting the same amount of Boston College. As of now, FSU brings in 15% of ACC revenue, while BC brings in less than 5%. They both get 7% of the money. Old ACC commish signed the deal with RayCom being involved because his son was high in the leadership there. This is why we are sueing and getting out of this terrible conference.

That TV deal is really bad, I don't blame them or anyone else for wanting out of the conference especially when some of them can go to much bigger conferences. But personally I would like to see the ACC stick together I know with a lot of people that's an unpopular opinion I just don't like the idea of 2 conferences ruling CFB.

@@TrashMonkeySports You should learn what the TV Deal actually is before you follow the Sheep into Ignorant Bleating about it. The TV Deal is much bigger than you know. More 150% more $$$ Payments and 2X as much Money involved in that Deal than you know. Plus 20% to 30% more $$$ coming IN in the near future. An Unlimited Pro Rata for adding New Schools. And a GOR that is STILL unbroken... although it is being Tested (foolishly)

i like really like this realignment but i think that every conference should have divisions like Nfl that should help the college playoffs

I see your point we had divisions in most conferences prior to realignment but it led to the 2 best teams no playing for the conference championship like in the B1G over the years. I think for the casual audience having divisions would help but I think we're better off without them as we should get to see the top 2 teams in every conference face off on championship Saturday which is better for everyone.

According to ESPN they will continue to have SEC games at 3: 30 on ABC but they will also put some of the bigger games on Saturday night football.

FSU lost the playoff spot because ESPN wanted their team in to sell TV ads & recoup some of their investment. CFB is big business now, run by the networks.

I wouldn’t underestimate the big12. I agree that the big12 will be extremely competitive. the playoff and espn may not respect it though.

That's what I was trying to say come playoff time ESPN will give them little respect. I don't think the conference is garbage by any means. The debate about who's better between the ACC and Big 12 is all subjective their both good conferences but neither is better by a wide margin.

That’s up to the Big10. Without a Big10 invite where do Stanford and Cal try to land? Big12? Revamped PAC/MWC? Can’t go independent. Seems sticking with a much less relevant than it has been ACC isn’t an option due to extravagant and wasteful travel expenses.

In all sports outside of Football and Baseball they will compete in the West Coast Conference. In Football they have an agreement with the Mountain West that will take up a nice chunk of their schedule for the next 2 years. After that it's anyone's guess at this point. As for Baseball they are independents.

What are you talking about? UW has been awful at basketball for years. UW has veen competetive in football the last two years. They have dropped like a rock in recruiting rankings and many of their players have hit the transfer portal.

Their not that bad they made the tourney in 2019 their conference record has hovered around .500 most of the century I didn't say they were contenders I just said competitive which they have shown at times they can be. Calm down its a video about realignment not UW basketball history.

@@TrashMonkeySports I am calm. After you replied I thought about the tone of my comment and it was harsh. I don't think they will be competitive in any revenue sport. With them playing teams that have as good of recruits no money and additional travel cost I think they sink. Cal estimates the additional travel will cost about ten million a year if memory serves correctly. I also don't think the current realignment will last long.

@@phays10 I think UW can compete. They might not at the top of the conference every year but i can see them being a mid pack school that has years where it contends and years where it rebuilds. They might not be a massive brand but of the new schools coming into the B1G they've been the most accomplished in football over the last decade. I also really like Jedd Fisch as a coach and think he will be better than most expect it may take a year or two but he's a solid HC.

Highly doubt you'd stop watching permanently. I understand your point, though. No dog in the UNC fight. But, i think UNC is too good a university to end up in a depleted ACC. Those schools will leave UNC and take their spot in the Big 10 or SEC if given the chance.

Instead you get to survive instead of the ACC and PAC12. You guys should be happy, not complaining the more popular schools make more money. AS THEY SHOULD.

If you look at the 50 most watched games of the 2023 season the Big 12 was behind the SEC, B1G, PAC 12, and ACC. The Big 12 title game was the 4th most watched conference championship behind the SEC, B1G, and PAC 12. Even if you want to go by what the conference will look in 2024 they would still be 4th behind the SEC, B1G and ACC.

@@TrashMonkeySports - Fair enough. The comment I was referring to was about the Big 12 not inheriting any big brands from the PAC 12. USC and UCLA may have the name recognition but there was 1 team in the PAC 12 that was #3 in TV Viewer ratings behind Alabama and Ohio State, and a clue. It was neither of those teams. And that team will be MUCH improved over last years team that moves to the Big 12. We will see but there is a good probability that the most watched team in College Football will be in the Big 12 this year.

@@BkAlaskan I wasn't trying to be disrespectful of the schools that the Big 12 was able to get they're all quality schools. You may be right everybody is tuning in to watch Coach Prime and Colorado which will be great for the Big 12. The issue with Colorado is how long will Prime stay if he's there long term then i certainly think that's a massive boost to the Big 12 but that remains to be seen. I like what the Big 12 has done overall they've positioned themselves really well even with Texas and OU leaving.

This dude doesn't know much at all. First thing, the Big 12 is 3rd behind the big 2. Second, the Acc is the next conference to be raided by the SEC, Big 10 , and Big 12. Third schools like Louisville and Pitt would be gets for the Big 12. Possibly, others such as GT, Duke, VT. So the Big 12 isn't the 4th conference. Pay attention to what's being said by reliable sources. Acc will still exist but not as strong as the other 3 going forward. At least 6- 8 schools want out of the ACC. How in the world are they better than the Big 12😂😂😂😂😂

As of right now the ACC is better the Big 12 has 0 national champions during the playoff Era the ACC has 2. I said in the video the Big 12 has a better chance at surviving in the coming years if the ACC loses its top schools that changes things but as of now none of that has happened.

@TrashMonkeySports They're not really better. FSU is good. Clemson can be good. The ACC has 18 schools right now. About 6-8 really shouldn't be in rhat conference. They're clearly the reasons the ACC has fallen so far. It's why it's going to be devastating when schools leave.

@@lorenzohaynes3886 I think the ACC is better right now because of Clemson and FSU in the future that could change but right now the ACC is better. The Big 12 is more competitive than the ACC and it has more depth but in my opinion they don't have a school that looks like its ready to compete at the same level as Clemson in the Past or FSU last year. They are close it's not like the ACC is a lot better iI slightly favor them over the Big 12.

Speaking as a casual college football fan I’m happy that there’s real alignment. I don’t really care about the little smaller schools. I’m hoping that the Big Ten and SEC get bigger and take over all the top 50 schools so they can start a actual tournament with these two conferences to see who is the actual Best school in the nation more people be interested in college football this way don’t really care about all those bowl games

I get where your coming from but the top 50 schools today are not the top 50 of tomorrow. Maybe if they found a way to bring a promotion and relegation system it could work but I don't see that ever happening.

@@TrashMonkeySports I only said top 50 because I figured the two major conferences are going to get somewhere around 24 colleges in their conference but realistically there’s only 25 to 28 top colleges that the casual fans really care about and will always just care about

I think there will eventually be a very Powerful 2 with the rest of the schools in a various Group of 3 conferences consisting of the Big12, a revamped ACC (after it’s picked clean of its power schools by the Big10 and SEC, and some to the Big12), and the revamped PAC/MWC. Who knows where Stanford and Cal end up, could be Big10 or could be they suck up their pride and up up Big12 or PAC/MWC.

@@chsmithins most people don’t like the whole power to thing because they want no disrespect to these smaller schools but San Diego state or New Mexico state to have a chance to win a national title because they went to that school or a family member went to that school but if you actually talk to casuals they think all the bowl games and smaller schools are what hurts college and that makes it exciting to watch so I am very excited that college is moving to a power to conference
