When I was younger it blew my mind that people had to draw every frame of movement I saw in cartoons. I could barely draw the same thing twice so I thought it impossible for multiple people to do the same. Eventually I accepted the talent involved in animation, but learning how each animator differs when animating the same thing is a whole other level of mind blown.

@MageBurger yh like some filter or an effect where they record someone and do something with the cameras to make them seem animated sadly this is not the case and ppl literally has to sit dow and draw every single frame. Look at Ghost in the Shell.

Most of the time is rather easy actually, but it also depends on the series and characters' designs, the more detail and complexity of the character drawn, easier it is to know who animated the shot.

Fans should not expect future Shonen series adaptations to look like OPM season 1. This was a one-time dream project by director Shingo Natsume that will never be replicated again probably. The fact that he got so many of the top talents in the industry to come work on one project is unprecedented. The ongoing season 2 of OPM should not be ridiculed simply because it's not the same staff. It's an unfair comparison. It's an unfair comparison for any series of the genre.

A comment on youtube always stayed with me - that the first season was lightning in a bottle. It really does seem like exactly the right people came to work on exactly the right project at exactly the right time. It simply might never be possible to reproduce that level of quality, but my god they need these people back for Season 3 and beyond.

Its possible but productiin company decided most people are filthy casuals that would eat up anything no matter how many corners were cut. These incapable of discerning quality potato heads are the reason why we get a rushed and passionless season 2 of vastly inferior quality. So fking sad man. Ive rewatched season 1 30 times and many more times to come but season 2 ive painfully watched once and never again.

since each scene is about a diferent character and a diferent context, having so many animators with their own styles make each scene something new, and if the style is all about the key element of the scene, it gets better, now imagine a show when this was true for all its runtime (at least for the first season, havent checked season 2 much yet)

I can't rave about OPM's animation enough. I've watched the show 5 or 6 times, full marathon style, JUST because it was a beautiful thing to behold. Also because Genos is adorable. Oda's work in episode 1 just really stands out like a sore thumb though. It looks too different from everything else. The scene of the giant brother punching the ground was so weird that I had to explain to my family (whom I forced to watch some of this show) that the rest of the series would not look like that.

the different between western animators and eastern animators, is that the eastern animators creates the inconsistency of each of episode of flawless and superb artwork for each episode, allowing animator to have that freedom to use their own unique animation and implementing it to the episode, so that it flows along with the story, wheras western episodes are quite more consistent since it could be made by the same animators, rather than have people coming in and out of companies to do etc. brilliant work

This is why I think Madhouse would do an AWESOME JOB with Dragon Ball Super, why not them and Toei Animation team up?

Did you listen at all? Animators are free lance. Studios have very little to do with quality of product...

@@williamschlass4598 but madhouse was still responsible for this perfect animation by hiring all these legends.

@@rengokukyoujuro3750 lol no, the director had a lot of connections, so he brought lots of freelancers and animators from Bones(he is from Bones too). Look at overlord, it was done by the animators from the studio with almost no help from outside and the end result was shitty animation.

After seeing how one of the animators that delivered one of the best fight scenes was not credited, no wonder they did not return to make Season two.

Actually he was credited, it's just that he used another name. mobile.twitter.com/CanipaShow/status/733999494728056832

I spotted a little mistake, at 3:25, the cut you are showing was not animated by Kameda but by Toya Oshima! Source is in the comments of this Sakugabooru post: sakuga.yshi.org/post/show/18827/animated-background_animation-debris-effects-fight

Now I regret saying impolite words to JC Staff, and I feel bad for them. S1, I guess, was kinda unfair to succeeding animators to reproduce.

Basically dragon balls needs to be a movie before having a decent animation. Well one punch man is only a series. Imagine if they decided to make a movie of punch man, with the same animators, that will be lit.
