1. Accept that you can live with OCD 2. Dealing with the fear of fear after overcoming ocd- know that you have better connections now, better resources and better relationship with God. 3. Focus on what you can still do in your life with OCD - you can still write, enjoy things at your job, go for long walks. Making the steps twards helping to form the conditions in your mind and your lifestyle that will give you a greater chance of recovery but not fixating on needing it and having to have recovery. 4. Sleeping lion - don't avoid something because of the fear of fear because it will occupy a much greater part of the room. Let it become a mouse through doing what you want to do.

Right now, I am having this fear of fear cycle. I had sleep anxiety which caused me realise fear of fear can cause real problem, like insomnia. My mind right now is like keep trying to find new things to fear about, to make me fail in stuff. Its like trying to find new things to fear of fear, and not allow any happiness in me. Can you explain this? thank you :(

@@jadet1337 Hi Jade, sorry one more question. I have been watching OCD videos, and learnt about sensorimotor OCD and I found the fear of this OCD ironically. And I couldn't get it out of my head and started notice my own breathing and blinking. Should I be doing exposure and feel the blinking? how can i overcome my fear of fear? Thanks a lot again!

Hi Jade, one of my fears are my children inheriting my condition. Have you had this ? I would suffer for the rest of my life for them to not get it.

If you're avoiding children for this reason OCD will always have the upper hand.

How do I connect if that’s is the case I have had ocd therapy for over 1 year Erp , emdr , meditation has helped me big big time but there is still that fear of fear quotient that is refueling my anxiety to some extent and I get confused and lost
@jadet1337

Hey, so I don’t have any now - if I feel anxiety coming in maybe I’d have a session every say 3 or 6 months to check in. During recovery I had a session every other week with Rob for a while and then reduced down as I started to get better.

Jade, daft question but how do you differentiate between not minding a relapse but also really not wanting it to happen? Same theme as you and the other question is, how did you overcome the fear of living with perhaps your kids pining for you if your fear came true? My rational thoughts are, it would suck, but they have a boss mum and family and if I was detached from them, in time life would go on, she would be happy, and I’d come to terms with it as I’d have no choice. Not what I want of course and upsetting to consider but acceptable.

Hey Matthew - I’ll cover this in my next Q&A video (not the one coming out in a couple of days as it’s already recorded but my next one in a week or so). For the first part, that’s really the big piece of work! I definitely don’t want a relapse so it’s not that I don’t mind, I’m at peace with what life will throw at me , not necessarily happy about the idea of going back to where I was - I guess “at peace with” is different than “not minding “ - and that goes for the second part of your question too
@matthewdavy293

Hey Jade, thanks for the reply. I guess it’s the same as, I’m at peace with potentially getting cancer, it could happen and my options would be to fight it and hopefully live, but if not, like many others it would take me and that’s ok, it can happen and there’s nothing I can do about it so it’s not worth wasting time worrying about as it’s effectively out of our control. I guess this theme is harder as you feel there’s some element of control over your actions etc, and since have good periods, it’s that confusing stage of, how could I almost be two completely different personalities at once 😅! But…. It has happened to others, and could to me, as much as I don’t want it to, I’d have to deal with it if it did to the best of my ability and as the Brilliant Frankl book states, find some meaning within it all and push forward with resilience, acceptance, gratitude and optimism. Thanks for the reply, your videos are excellent 👌
