Have a great girlfriend, where we first started dating we were younger and had to transition into being adults. Throughout that time I showed less attention, and focused on trying to figure it out; even using that as an excuse as to why I was acting the way. Just showing her attention and appreciating her more is something I’ll work on. She’s awesome and I’m glad I saw this.

I’m crying watching this. I love my guy so much, I give all the attention, do everything to makes him happy but I don’t feel appreciated at all. I always get ignored. My text will get reply in a day. Simple text just wanna know how was his day going also unanswered and leave hanging. When I tell him to give me little attention he’ll go silent for days even a month. I’m so tired ..it’s only a year and I feel he lost interest in me. But whenever I ask what he feels towards me, he still say he love me but his action didn’t show up. Feels like dying

Hi Brandon, thanks for the video! I read through the rest of the comments and I cannot be more agreeable when they mention that words of wisdom just flow of your mouth. I just wanna thank you for the book, the emails (they're indeed not the repetitive type) and for always coming up with such diverse range of videos with the same, helpful and motivating intention. Here are some videos I'd like you to share with us if possible, since we're in the topic of relationship: 1. How have or how do you intend to nourish your child in the growing teen years? How do you keep that father to son/daughter relationship great while at the same time adjusting you tone, degree of discipline and the amount of time given to be with them? 2. I'm sure you have a pretty great relationship w yourself too! You always look charged, ready, alert and I wanna know if there's anything or a routine you do in the morning when you're up, at night before you hit the sack and in the mid afternoon when most of us really just wanna nap. Haha! How do you fuel you body as well as you fuel your mind? 3. I find myself reserved on most times; at work or at a gathering. What are some of the ways I which I can express my existence without appearing aloof/ serious/ emotional?

If in laws, acts are mostly more important than intention then in relations, intention is maybe more important for honest people. If you have difficulties to say good things to those awful people who just want bad things for you, you are authentic ! Congratulations ! This is very rare quality in these days. Keep it and never think that you are a person with relational problems. Imagine one day when all those garbages will be cleaned, how will authentic people be together ?!

I can certainly attest to the importance of genuine attention: 1) Totally dislike when people ask you how you or your family are doing but don't make eye contact or are fiddling around with other things while you reply; totally RUDE :(! It's like why bother asking at all when you don't really care! 2) My husband and I noticed that his brother was totally glued to his smart phone during his entire visit with us (even when we were speaking with him and no, he wasn't on call etc.). Very sad but true... his wife just separated from him 2 months ago and they are definitely headed for divorce :(.

Get the book The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman. Incidentally, they are: Gift giving; quality time; words of affirmation; acts of service (devotion); and physical touch. If you figure out which one of these is your loved one's love language (it's usually the one they do themselves for other people) and do that for them, they feel loved. This works for all relationships, not just spouses. Most people have a secondary love language, too. For example, maybe someone feels most loved when they get to spend time with family members. Quality time is their first love language. But they also really like to hear that they're worthwhile. Words of affirmation is their second love language.

Great video you're 100% correct. I was blind for 9 years! My childhood was not good I didnt know how to step outside myself. My ex gf is similar closed off It just hit me recently that we had to connect I knew I loved her I just didn't know how to express it. I can say that even though she is not talking to me we finally had a conversation last night where I could be truly open and present. And not worry about judgment or rejection. I'm an at peace it showed me what we could have been..

TRYING TO! I can't, I don't know how to work in my relationship, I talk to him about something but he seems to not care, he doesn't listen, at least I think he isn't. I try to keep him occupied but I have been it seems to not work, I can talk to him, I try to improve and listen to our relationship but he wont HELP ME! It isn't fair, I am doing this all by myself! I try to tell him what is bothering me but he wont listen or care! Well, he may listen but he still has no interest of helping me. I try to make him feel better, cheer him up, but he wont do the same. This is a one sided relationship and it's going downhill, I need as much advice and praying as possible. For both parts.

When i reflected back, she accused me for criticizing her. When I asked for more to encourage her to talk, she turned around to ask me to listen and don't ask question. I left the relationship clearly that we are incompatible.

I got divorced because I wasn’t given enough attention. My wife told me that she was showing me love by doing the laundry and paying bills and cleaning rather than allowing me to be her partner in doing all of those things

Brendon I Love Your Stuff man...Just Love It! Love your passion and the words of wisdom that just flow out of you mouth. And....I Love to 'share' that wisdom with my friend here in Poland. Those that speak 'perfect' English can sometimes keep up (almost) with your speed and energy and understand maybe half of what you say. Those that don't speak 'perfect' English, well, there's no way they can keep up and understand anything really. They can feel the positive energy but don't have an understanding of what you're saying. I have only one request, can you make your videos available for captioning? I see on some videos on KZfaq that they can be translated and captioned. Your's unfortunately don't have the captioning ability. My friends say that even the auto generated English subtitles help them. If they're available for captioning I'd be more than willing to have some of them even translated via Amara. Thanks again for such a wonderful and inspirational video.

This is great advice for people that aready know, and accept, you. Close relationships, not new ones. Taking this deep of a perspective and with this level of energy will usually conflict with people's ego and they can become uncomfortable and can reject you.

idk, my bf and I are a month together, hes the kinda sad type of person, and I'm on the other hand always smiling, I first felt like I was giving him lots of happiness but I now feel like his sadness is taking over me, our relationship is really complicated, I've had a few relationships before but I really wanna keep him, he has a few struggles but I take him with those because I love him, I wanna show him that I really love him, make him happy again like I used to the first week we met each other and we were together, I was feeling down, and I wanted to change something about all the frustration between us, we both have hard times but I don't want that to take us apart , this video really helps me, thanks a lot ^^
