I love this. She seems so blown away that JOHN MAYER is on her stage, and he seems happy to be sitting in on BRENNA WHITAKER'S BAND. Genuine admiration and respect from both parties. What also strikes me is how much John Mayer sounds like John Mayer, someonelse's guitar someonelse's amp, the tone is in the fingers.

This is what I love about the dude, getting up in a restaurant and getting roped into a really sweet little jam. Love that KZfaq is crammed full of this. Whether it's something low key like this, tearing it machine gun style at the blue note or drunkenly shredding AC/DC in a bar in Cabo. Not to mention rocking up with Billy Joel last month, Rolling Stones, Jay-Z. What a total dude.

@thchruan
@thchruan 8 жыл бұрын
+Catte Adams haha. Yeah, how cynical. Look how jamming with that house singer and band makes them so feel so miserable and put upon. Clearly ruins their night. Using the guys old guitar and being a huge musical star and writing a note when out to dinner. If you follow what the note says and the actual events on stage where he borrows the guys guitar it appears fairly spontaneous after he goes up and says how insanely good the house band are and the audience heckle him to "play something", if it was pre-meditated it's pre meditated when he writes the note eating dinner ten minutes before. Hollywood, being all creative and spontaneous and collaborative. Bah humbug. Haha

What’s a generation? Do you count Guthrie Govan in as ‘in the generation’ of John Mayer? Than I have to say someone like Guthrie is at the highest level anyone can reach on an instrument. He can play anything he wants. Anything he needs, at the time he needs it. So can John. For me, they’re both great players. Guthrie is the best master of the instrument. Which makes him to me ‘the best guitar player of his generation’ John has a much broader audience with the music he plays. So more people know him, love him, respect him. But more importantly he is a master of the instrument, the master in using what he knows to make music. He has feel, time, technical skill, understanding of a band as a whole. So , in the end I can’t give him credits as the best guitarist of his generation. Because that’s Guthrie ;-) But he definitely is the best (pop-) musician who understands what a lot of people like in music. And when the time comes, he breaks out of that and becomes John, the little 13year old who just wants to play guitar, all day, all night. And there is where the magic happens

What a pleasure to watch, wow...to be those musicians on stage. That moment changed their life. Thanks Mikolaj Jaroszyk for this video! I've only been there once, & Brenna's fantastic live - what a night to know John Mayer's in the audience & to come up on stage to jam, so surreal.

I've watchies this half a dozen times. It's all remarkable. The part that I've always missed before is in the last 20 seconds. The pianist just puts his elbows on the piano and strokes his chin, taking in the scene before him, as JM takes off his guitar. Like he's processing all the things that happened in the previous 20 minutes. Pretty amazing.

John has master the guitar and probably can play type of music. Many times musicians like to get away from the their records and stage performances and do what they want to do and this is that moment. John is having the time of his life just kicking back with the gang. Lots of fun for all, spontaneous and playful, no pressure, no money on the table just his fingers working magic on another man's guitar. its all in the hands. Busting it......made my evening.

- just coming out of the public, getting the spontaneous idea of playing together - paying respect of each other and comes out a fresh piece of music. Should not be compared with other versions. Just to lean back and enjoy!

the thing that I love about this, he is playing as if everything is still on the line and this gig is paying for his meal for the night. He still is able to play with that desperation

I think hes having more fun than the band. Prob is for most professional musicians in this situation. I would think its less of a job and more of a passion not being in a packed stadium. Plus as a celebrity its a chance to be normal again instead of dodging the masses
