You took the words right out of my mouth. I feel so bad for Debra. Losing Sharon to such a brutal, senseless murder was bad enough. Then she lost her mom to brain cancer. Then her other sister died of breast cancer at the young age of 40. Eventually her father died several years ago. Debra has suffered so much loss. Give that poor woman a break.

Doris Tate became extremely depressed and stayed in bed for ten years. Both Patti and Debra lost their mother until it was known that the killers could apply for parole and be released. That news revived her and got her involved with the rights of crime victims and making sure the killers stayed where they belonged.

in 1988 my friend was a bar bouncer and shot to death. within 10 months, my stepmom was killed in her bed in Amarillo and my elderly uncle was stabbed to death by a crackheads for $14! this woman and Doris Tate- were my inspiration. I worked hard to keep my stepmom's Killer behind bars. he died last spring in a Texas prison at age 71 and my uncle's Killer, Richard Bayes is going gray on death row in an Ohio prison. God bless Doris Tate- and her wonderfully strong daughters. and R.I.P. Chuck Weaver, Lois Bell and Randy Banker. I will always love you!!

Go, Debbie, Go!!!! Stand up for your beautiful big sister and defend the Tate family name and legacy, Girlie!!! I am 190% on your side and if you or ANY of your remaining family members ever read this, then know that your gorgeous late big sister still has fans, and that your whole family can go on knowing that her death and her friends' deaths were NOT in vain. And by the way, Ms. Tate, you are so spot on when you said on the interview that you can feel people and what they stand for, even if you're only just sit next to them, and I now firmly believe, LOOK IN THEIR EYES. THE EYES ARE THE WINDOWS TO THE SOULS. I might be wrong, but I strongly might not be as well. Team Tate Forever!!!

Yes, they were. Look up Debra now. She's had some major work done on her face, I guess for her book signing tour. Looks really good, but, from the pictures I've seen, she looks NOTHING like she did in this clip. Doesn't even look like her former self. In the pictures I've seen, she's lost that "Tate" look that all the girls had.

All these negative comments about Debra Tate are horrible. She is not seeking fame from her sisters death. She is not trying to be in movies or record music. She is standing up for her beloved sister who was innocent and pregnant when these evil devils broke into her home and strung her up like an animal and tortured her to death. Yes, we all have lost family members but extremely few of us will know the nightmare of having a family member viciously slaughtered. Analyze Debra Tates motives all you care too but it's clear that her only motive is the keep the evil Manson devils in prison where they belong. As for a her views on Roman Polanski, well, that's purely incidental. It has nothing to do with the love she had for her sister and the Manson case. Personally, I don't agree with all that she says, but she has more than enough right to be out there speaking and doing what she can. She's very brave I believe.

Miss Malibu California. I agree with you and swampzoid. Debra has said repeatedly that Manson has more followers now over the internet than in 1969. Some of these Manson followers post negative comments on this and other such pages. Other people posting on different sites are those who believe Tex Watson is now a minister and have joined his church. They believe God forgave Tex because he says so. As if someone who could torture and murder 7 people without an afterthought would not lie about this.

Her whole life? No. She never had any involvement in this until her sister, who picked up the torch when their mother died, passed. She was not close with Patti or Doris, lying to Patti about making her an appointment with a cancerspecialist only for Patti to be turned away after a 3 hour drive. But her defense of a rapist and insulting his victim is why so many dislike her. Saying she isn't a "real victim of rape" as if to justify her ex brother in law drugging and raping her both anally and vaginally.
@sammoses3195

Paul O'Brien. Debra is involved now when she is alone with no family support. She has to go to parole hearings with greater frequency as time goes on. She is subject to threats by Manson supporters. It doesn't matter what she did when her mother and sister were alive, the important thing is she is involved now.
@littlemixlover364

Paul O'Brien what proof do you have of that. I saw many pictures of Debra with her family, for example Debra & Pattie at Pattie’s wedding (wich Doris had framed on her drawer next to Sharons photo on the wall) and also some where Doris is smiling with Debra at her wedding and with PJ walking Debra down the aisle smiling. In one interview Doris is asked about Debra & Pattie and the possibility that she could’ve lost 2 daughters. And Doris talks about that she thought about that & even gives a glimpse of how it affected both girl’s lives & how protective of their children they are. You all attack Debra. You don’t even know what has been going on. She was close to her family. Proof: she posts pics of them, she talks about them on interviews. She even posted on father’s day & sisters day pictures where she honored them. In a recent interview she went to the cemetery with flowers to lay on her family’s grave & talked to them. She said that she loved them all and while crying said that she missed every single one of them. Nobody says anything about Pattie not talking about Debra. Because Debra & Pattie’s relationship is private. Its their thing. Every bond has troubles, but Debra stated herself that she had a loving bond with Pattie & was Maid of Honor at her wedding as was Pattie at Deb’s wedding. Pattie, her ex-hubby & children even lived with Debra at one point (Debra’s ex-hubby can account to that). There’s no proof why she wouldn’t have been close. The only proof there is is that Debra was close with mother & sister & father. Leave her alone. She is doing something good for society. She is keeping those monsters behind bars. If she wasn’t close to her family as you claim, than she wouldn’t have picked it up after Pattie died. Maybe the sisters made a deal. That Pattie wanted to do it & Debra maybe already had a child & was busy with that or wanted live her life, wich is her right & pick it up when either of her family members leave it to her or die. It doesn’t matter when she picked it up, it matters that she in fact picked it up. So stop bashing her

Thank you for your candidness, Debra. It does matter very, very, much. The unmerciful anguish your family endures should not ever be dismissed in favor of freedom for these murderers unless they can resurrect your sister and her friends and erase all memory of the crime and its unmerciful emotionally turbulent aftermath. I do not even understand the question: "Why does it matter so much?" Time does not erase your pain, nor restore what future your family would have had getting to know and love its new little member.

Well! so far Susan Atkins died of brain cancer in 2009 and the infamous Charles Manson died in 2017 so there only 3 left Van Houton, Krenwinkle, and Tex. Tex is never getting out Susan Atkins implicated him as the killer of Sharon Tate when in fact she was lying, she initiated the first stabbs with the knife and Tex finished her off, back then it wasn't considered a double murder being that she was pregnant. They're all equally guilty of murder.

We may never know with certainty who initiated the first stabs, and nor does it matter so long as they stay in prison. Imagine living next door to Tex Watson or Susan Atkins. No one in their right mind would want that. Sharon was going to give birth in 2 weeks it should have been considered a double homicide back then as well.

Doris Tate stated in In Her Own Words" that Debra Tate was planning to stay with Sharon "on that fateful night," but Sharon cancelled. she was tired. I don't understand the animosity directed at Debra Tate. She picked up the crusade that her mother initiated to keep those psycho killers in prison. The baton was passed to her after sister Patty had died.Even If Debra really did embellish her take on 1969 does it matter? It seems more appropriate to hate the Manson Family.

There's just something about her that I've never liked. Sharon's mom, Doris and her other sister, Patti I thought were wonderful, strong women. This one just always struck me as wrong. For one thing, why did she never go to a parole hearing until after her mom and her younger sister passed away. And why has she always stood up for rapist Roman. Something just wrong about her.

Debra Tate is a liar. Her take on the summer of '69 has evolved over the years, and with each embellishment, she places herself more and more squarely into the action. The fact of the matter is that she did not spend time on Cielo Drive that summer other than one visit, shortly after Roman and Sharon moved in. She did not buy the inner tube Sharon used in the pool. She was not to sleep over that fateful night. All lies. She can only now make such statements now that Doris and Patti are dead.

@laceydays1 Debra was supposed to stay with Sharon as per Doris Tate ( see "in her own words "here on you Tube.) on the night of the murders. Sharon being fatigued from her pregnancy cancelled out. It would have been an even worse trauma for the parents if two daughters were murdered. Debra putting herself in the lime light in order to keep psycho murderers who murdered her sister et al in prison is not a character flaw.

Keith Morrison is a fucking GOUL!!! I remember him in the mid-1970's. He would work on "Canada AM", biding his time til he got a call from a U.S. station, then run down there, get fired, then return to Toronto, felling entitled to a "Spot on the air" while he sent out his next demo tapes. He was back and forth through out the 80's till he didn't need to come back "in between jobs" It's fitting that he is with MSNBC- The septic tank of so-called journalism!!

True. It was Debra's dream to follow in Sharon's footsteps had Sharon lived. Debra posed for Playboy as a young woman. Along with her nude images, and a provocative cover photo, a headline: Sharon Tate's little sister grows up. The Tate family was mortified. Hardly the sort of attention Doris or Patti would wish for considering their own efforts, and success, at passing legislation that allowed victims' families to testify at parole hearings, and to limit privileges to life-sentence inmates.

Debra was forbidden by her family to speak publicly about Sharon's murder. It was Doris and Patti who set up the Tate foundation for victims and who campaigned so hard to limit privileges to life-sentence murderers like Charles Watson and Susan Atkins. Debra only began to come forward after the death of her mother and sister Patti.

I don't understand why she says these people weren't sorry. I think most of them were, except for Manson and Squeaky Fromme. The reason they were chosen by Charlie was they were young and very mentally vulnerable, and he drugged and isolated them, and made most of them believe he was a god. They thought they were sending their victims to heaven, right before the Rapture after an upcoming race war. I'm not saying they should be released, cause I think the family's wishes should be taken into account, and many of them are doing good work in prison, with dogs and prisoners, for example. I'm not saying they're not culpable to a degree, for following Manson to begin with. Nonetheless, he did not mention violence til the end, and then most of them were terrified to leave and most of the women were in love with Manson, thinking he was a demi-god, in their drug-induced delusions.

I agree with Debra Tate. These murderous people without a conscience are living proof that the Devil DOES exist, and is the Father of lies & hate. I also agree that ALL serial killers should NEVER be paroled or allowed to leave and go bn outside the prison walls for ANYTHING - NO EXCEPTIONS! Not even for a family fu bnb real. They sealed their fate each time they selfishly took an innocent person's life, and by their own hands & decision sent that person into eternity forever.

Debra wouldn't be in the media lime light, had the California justice system done it's job in the first place when these Manson killers death sentence were over-turned. Since their lives were spared, then their sentences should have automatically been life in prison without the possibility of parole. Then Debra & the other victim's family members wouldn't have any parole hearings to attend & they can put this nightmare behind them so they could have closure & move on with their lives. But sadly, they attend these parole hearings, to keep their loved ones killers behind bars where they belong.

Thank you for protecting the rest of us. If not for you, Leslie Van Houten would certainly have been released. Your family have been timeless advocates of victim's rights. It is inconceiveable to me that you have to go through this hell every five years, then every two years, then every one year for the rest of your life. If not for a glitch in the system, during which they were all commuted to life in prison before the death penalty was reinstated, you would not have to go through this. But these are mass murderers, premeditated, not a one time crime of passion. They should never be up for parole and you should not have to go through this. I have seen their parole hearings recently on KZfaq, not sure why they came up on my feed, but I did watch them and they are remorseless. They are faking. During the first parole hearings, after they had "found Christ," they were completely emotionless, like zombies, when recounting the crimes, very matter of fact. Later, when someone must have schooled them, the next parole hearings some of them were able to produce crocodile tears. But you can sense how dangerous these people are. Intelligent and ruthless; bad combination.

What does she mean she was in the inner circle with Sharon and her friends? I seriously doubt Doris Tate would have let her sixteen-year-old hang out at 60's Hollywood parties.
