Only 29k people watched this video. Many people missing out on the best lesson yet on how to make 12 bar blues solos sound more interesting. Great chromatic ideas, great phrasing ideas, and players who use the dom 7th arpeggios in their blues solos always sound the best. Thanks for another great video. FYI, I've been a TrueFire all access subscriber for about a year and Corey's lessons are all top notch.

Since discovering him about two months ago, Corey is quickly becoming one of my favorite players. He is the kind of player that I’ve always wanted to be myself. He’s comfortable in all styles of music yet still has developed his own sound from his myriad influences. I got serious about guitar around age 14 or so, when I saw Alan Jackson’s Austin City Limits show. His guitarist was playing all the Brent Mason stuff from the record and it blew my mind. Dude was a monster and no one knew his name. The search to find out who he was led me down the session guitarist rabbit hole and I’ve been digging it deeper ever since. Nothing has been better for my sideman career than imitating session guys and learning to play multiple styles well. It allowed me to sit in with a blues band, jazz trio, and a classic rock band in the same week and be convincing enough in each to get the call backs. Most of my buddies went chasing a single hero of theirs like SRV, EJ, Slash or whomever else it may have been, and even though a few of them became monster players, they were only monsters in their comfort zones. To each his or her own, but in my opinion the best players on Earth are the guys cutting the records that you don’t hear much about. I rambled off all that nonsense to say that Corey is as complete a player as I have seen and my only gripe with him is that he didn’t show up on my radar sooner. So many licks to cop and not enough time to do it 😂 If you happen to stumble across this Corey, thank you for all the incredible content you freely give to us peasants in this music kingdom 🤘🏼

Brad Carlton used that exact same dominant 7 arpeggiation in a Rhythmology series sponsored by D’Adarrio 10 years ago. It was the same chord structures and scale (root, third, fifth, flat seven, etc.). I thought I was going to finally get around to learning how to play some Funky rhythm pieces but Brad was way over my head. I remember thinking back then that maybe one day I finally would figure it out. Well, I still don’t have it figured out but I understand it better now. Brett and several others got me this far, it looks like Mr. Congilio is about to teach us the triads in Blues chord progression. Who knows, maybe this’ll give me the confidence to go back and use Mr. Carlton’s lessons to finally pin down some of those rhythms in Funk! Maybe get some of that Blues to Funk crossover stuff the Kirk Fletcher has mastered.

Thanks for demo. On my side, my taste is not for that kind of arpeggios in a Blues context. I feel less is more, few notes, some silences to install a dramatic feel, that's my thing. While I do like the dominant 7th chords, I would not arpeggiate them. Anyway, I like the 2 of you demoing, keep that good time roll 👍

@@coreycongilio yezh, right , Papastache deviated from blues arpeggios to rock rythm arpeggio, soon to become jazzy rythm. Whatever music, blues, rock, jazz (even country haha), we live them all 👍

Isn't another name for this ; intervals?

Arpeggios are the notes of a chord played separately. So in a sense yes they are intervals.
