Brett, I also raise quail but have never raised Chukar. How does the poo of chukar vs bobwhite vs coturnix quail match up? I have raised pens with trays. ----------------------------------------- The bobwhite poo is very dry and causes no problems for trays. Bobwhites do not pen tightly together very well. They stress out. If one gets out it is very difficult to catch them again. Their meat is white, tender and very tasty. ---------------------------------------- The coturnix quail poo is very very wet and lots of it. They cage tightly very well and are very calm. So calm that if they get out it is not hard to catch them. Coturnix quail meat is dark and not nearly as tasty. ------------------------------------------- Chukar poo... Lots or little? Wet or dry? How well do the chukar cage tight? Meat white and tasty? Please let me know. Thank you.

haha i have yet to watch a video of yours that has not been straight wind noise. so muffled you cant hear anything. i do like the variety of birds you got, but need some differnet sound equipment!

What can you please repeat. A small piece of synthetic fur around the spot that says (mic) will help a lot with the wind.

Dust bath is very important for their good health specialy in summer. They take dust bath every day. I have made a place for them in aviary and change the soil every two month. Also add apple vinegar in thier water 20ml per litlre.

Can they live well in Zone 8 Temperature zones? Where I live there is also a lot of rainfall right now, and I heard they don't like or live in areas with lot of Rainfall.

Thanks for watching ! I too live in zone 8 and have received a ton of rain lately, especially in July. My birds are kept in in pens with roofs over them so they had no problem. They are a natural arid loving bird but even desserts and other arid areas still have summer storms. As long as they aren't constantly soaked they should do fine although don't expect them to lay eggs steadily.

I don't think most people have ever even heard of "zone 8" before as we're not meteorologists. It'd prob be better just to say where you generally live.

I would like to get some Chukar eggs for hatching but all I have found they only sell live birds or you have to by no less than 50 eggs. Only want to start with 12 or so. so I will have to find someone in my area who raises them I guess. Also I live in southern Alabama I wonder how well they do in my climate

I received 50 chukars from a place in pennsylvania and 22 appeared dead but came back to life once heat was on them. Then slowly within the next couple days, ended up with 23 live. I am feeding them what the directions say. keep heat about 97+ they have plenty of room to run. I am giving them water with vitamin and electrolytes can you give me some advice? I have raised chickens but this is stupid how they are dying off. I got them from WR Hatchery

Heat shock suddenly cause sever dehydration in body fluid this lead to sticky blood and die.

As you known we have more than 200 species of partridge, so tasty meat like pheasant.

Most of chukar breeders gives of an eggs as gift 🎁 because of that is shame if sale it.

I have rescued a wild Chukar female. Her left wing is broken and her left leg was injured but healed. Can I introduce a male to her if I can find one. She seems younger but is adult size.

I would like to try raising chuckers I I'm currently raising quail. Can they eat the same food as the quail or do they require a different diet. Can I raise them in the same type of cage as quail maybe four females to one male in a 4-ft by 18-in cage would that be okay I appreciate any help you could give me thank you

As I do we can not raise in same cage because of chukar has a sharp beak or bill this will leads to fight 🤔.

@katiecamp3566 There are folks who say "Game Bird"; some say "Layer Mash"; others say "Bird Seed". In the wild they eat seeds from various plants. I have tried ALL 3. Bird Seed WITHOUT any form of corn is what works for me best. Best wishes. God bless you in all your endeavors.

Sure, how old are the chukars and what kind of cage do they have? Chukars need lots of sunight and food that is rich in protein.

thanks for response. They are 5 years old and i am using two small cages for both of these. But i free them in morning from cages in my house so they are free till to evening.

They are a bit old, so that is why you dont get eggs. They lay about 80-85% of all their eggs before they are 2 years old. If you want eggs it is best to get a younger female.

Yes it is okay for Chukars to live in Mexico, they can handle the heat quite well..

Completely useless with all the wind noise in the background. Highly suggest you put a wind shield on the microphone and if you can't then just film whatever you want to show and add narration to it afterwards when you're editing. Releasing a video like this is a complete waste of time for both you and the viewers. LISTEN to the audio and watch the video before you even consider uploading and if it's not up to standard then do something about it or record a new video.
