Id have gone with a smaller circle or a square my self that extra strip of grass on each side would annoy me being that thin. This is a great tip for circles id never thought about trying it until seeing this.

Looks amazing I would say though to make sure your trees root flare has room to breath and is not covered to much. A Secondary root system could grow about it cause it to grow in the mulch.
@timjohnson3913 Жыл бұрын
This is the comment I was looking to upvote or leave myself if I couldn’t find it. The recommendation is to keep the mulch 3 inches away from the trunk of the tree for various reasons. And definitely don’t “volcano” the mulch (in other words, don’t hill up the mulch around the trunk of the tree).
@W.Vanderbilt Жыл бұрын
@@timjohnson3913 I really hate seeing the volcanos around these poor trees. Pretty much killing the tree slowly

Great idea. But yes. way to big/not enough grass left next to the concrete. My village tree is set in a smaller space between the sidewalk and curb, and eventually I made mine wide enough and eliminated the grass between the concrete areas. It now looks like two parentheses...but still looks perfectly manicured.

From the masters lawn care: “Landscape fabric is not needed beneath mulch to block weeds, if you have the correct amount of mulch. Also, as the mulch breaks down, the nutrients and compost cannot do their job of helping the plants' roots and weeds end up seeding into the compst on top of the fabric.”
