I have had the one with the glass carafe for years. The only issue I have is that it only makes hot coffee if you brew at least 6 cups; under that amount, you get lukewarm brew. I bought the machine years ago, when it first came out, and am surprised that Breville has not addressed the temperature issue because people have been complaining about it for years. Also, for anyone interested in the machine with the glass carafe, don't do it. The glass is very fragile, and the carafe is almost always out of stock on the Breville site, the only place that sells it.

We LOVED our Breville Grind Control. But unfortunately we had 2 that broke - so now we've gone back to our tried and true old Kitchen Aid basic one. Not a coffee connoisseur - but did love the carafe feature! Will be interesting to see how long this one lasts for you.

I, too just moved this week from a Grind Control to this plus a Smart Grinder Pro. My Grind Control lasted 3 years before the grinder developed a mind of its own (it will start up again after it has ground the prescribed amount, and literally empty the whole hopper), and it also developed a leak. I'm not mad at it, those 3 years were the most enjoyable coffee situation I've ever had... Other than the cleanup. I'm looking forward to the easier maintenance of this one, not having to deal with that chute all the time, etc... How are you liking it now a few months in?

Is it possible your carafe is coolng down your fresh brew? If it's room temp or cold, then it may be cooling down the fresh coffee. This happens when putting cold water into a warm hydroflask. Just a thought.

Anyone have feel for what temperature they are running. Mine runs 198-199 no matter what temperature is set, holds true at 208. Overall like it just curious if anyone noticed it doesn't matter where the temp is set.

Using your autostart time in the video, does the coffee start brewing at 7:32am or is it finished brewing and ready to drink at 7:32am? Thanks! I had the Grind Control machine once. But the start button stopped working, so Breville sent me a brand new unit. But the main annoyance was the clean-up process after each and every cup. My wife and I both agreed that the quality of coffee made in the carafe was not nearly as satisfying as when making single cups of any size. Won’t get another one of those, but am intrigued by this Precision Brewer, as I’m now in the market for my next machine. So far, this one is at the top of my consideration list.

Great review but I'm just a little confused and saddened I guess. I love my coffee piping hot and this is making me hesitant to purchase one. However, the brew temperature goes up to 208 F which is the highest recomended temperature for brewing so how can it not be piping hot? Perhaps they "cool" it down after brewing I'm assuming? For a frame of reference, is the coffee as hot as a cup of coffee from Starbucks? I'm asking because after adding half & half, I still find their coffee to be hot enough for my liking. If it is, I'll be buying it. Thanks.

This coffee maker sucks. All the water does not drain from the tank and sits there. In the manual it says this is normal and no action is needed. Condensation forms on the tank and so does mold. It makes good tasting coffee but with mold on the tank and no way to remove the tank to wash... big waste of money.

Got this piece of crap as a gift unfortunately. What a useless piece of junk in every possible way.
