Crafting your home brew on any brewing system is fun and rewarding but when you throw yourself into learning a new system it can both inspire you to brew in a different way and also learn even more about the amazing hobby we all know and love!
In this video Stiffo throws himself into brewing on the amazing Brewtools B40pro system! It’s a system he’s not brewed often on so in this video he tried out some new experiments and techniques to brew a Munich Helles! What’s more, he also fermenters the beer in a Brewtools Mini Uni to get the full and immersive Brewtools experience!
Check out how he got on in the video and stick around to the end to see how the beer turned out.

Thanks for the video. Questions, please: 1. What did you use to serve the beer into the glasses? 2. Don't you loose pressure with that thing? 3. Can it be used to completely drink out the tank? Thank you!

The disconnect we used is the flow control one from Kegland - www.themaltmiller.co.uk/product/duotight-8mm-x-flow-control-ball-lock-disconnect-liquid-black-yellow/ The tank is fully a fully sealed pressure fermenter, so it should not loose pressure but if you do have a leak it can be found using food grade leak detector or soapy water and then resolved easily. You can drink form the tank yes, however you would have the yeast in the tank which over time could taint the flavour, this unit has the ability to fit parts to the bottom port which means you can also add a dump valve and this would mean you could absolutely then use it to drink the whole brew from.

It looks amazing and fairly easy to use but the price. I know as homebrewers we're trying to save money and we're all guilty of over spending on shiny kit. For the price you could setup a small brewery

Different people brew for very different reasons. Saving money can be one, if that is what you’re looking for then check out the 3 vessel brew day video. Some brewers want complete control over process and that is their main aim. Some brewers just love shiny, we are all different. It’s what makes the hobby so amazing, so many different avenues. Above all, it doesn’t really matter why, just enjoy;)

Great video, thanks for sharing, it's got my wanting to try no sparge on my own B40. Could you let me know what mash efficiency you got please so I can adjust my profile for the grain calcs?

@@themaltmiller8438 I was also surprised by your full-volume approach, but I think it helps with efficiency, since the grain can flow more freely and is not as compacted as in the normal approach. I currently have rather low efficiency on the B40 and wanted to experiment with stirring the mash but full-volume is also worth testing.

Brewtools is only interested in the US market. Many local shops here don't have any Brewtools products on stock anymore. They can order it and i will need to wait 3 weeks. They say it cost to much, and that people rather order it directly from Brewtools. Anything above 500 will be shipped free. For me the 3 way valves are a pita to work with. So i sold my B40 with 400 euro loss in 3 months time. If Brewtools made a simple version like Grainfather or Brewzilla has, then i would buy one again. TFT and 3 way valves are a pita for me. The GF G40 is a real pleasure to operate. Next month i will be getting a new jacketed pressure fermenter. A Brewtaurus Jacketed fermenter from CZ. A Helles Munich WLP925 will be brewed then.

As with all the variations in brewing systems, you'll find some who love one over another and for various reasons. That's the joy of the home brew market these days, with so much variety and choice out there you can find something perfect for all needs.

Hmmm Brewtools... Yeah I can dream! Interesting that you did a full volume, no sparge though. I used that process when I brewed with a grain bag and considered it to be a compromise. I'll try it on my Brewzilla. I'm guessing I can do the recirculation into the basket like you have to filter the wort?
@themaltmiller8438

It’s about experimenting, looking at process time verses the quality of the final beer and what effect it has on different beer styles. Yes, you can basically do the same process on the Brewzilla.

The Vorlauf definitely helps in this system. I have (shamefully) only brewed twice on my B80 in over 3 years [don't ask] and the second time I did a Vorlauf pre-sparge. It helps grab a few extra points for sure.
