Yeah, Lara was indeed the best test batsman , he single handedly won and drawn many matches . He didn't had proper support from other end except Chanderpaul yet he managed to score 10k runs at 50 plus average in test cricket

I saw this match live and that day it was a treat, I remember it was cold and over cast but something told me that day to go and see the match, Lara wasn't btting all that well, it was Chander Paul who was at one satage ahead of Brian but Brian just went crazy. keep in mind he was smash these bowlers not in any power play or change of balls or free hits. Lara was something else. cricket back then was amazing.

There was something extraordinary about Lars that set him apart from contemporary greats. His ability to build momentum exponentially in his innings was unique to him. No wonder he had so many big scoring innings.

Crappy running you said, did you watched B LARA'S first 50 runs in that match, it was made up of singles and doubles,real running, that only happens when you are fit.PLUS B LARA stand out to all other batsmen, he give the bowlers, the thought that they can get his wicket anytime, and he also brings out the best in bowlers all over the cricketing world.❤

For Lara batting was easy as the opposition just sledged him and not verbally abused him and this bowling attack was terrible.
