Brian has struggled a lot to come back to the light from the dark place of depression he was suffering for years (the end of his marriage in 1988, not been able to see his children, death of his dad in June of 1991 and then loosing Freddie on 24th November and with that loosing the band). Music was his way of staying sain and endure the sadness. He learned to deal with all that sad emotions but at that performance in 1993 he was still in stages of grief (almost denying that 👑 existed, overgreiving Freddie's death). It was so extremely hard and sadly life threw many more losses at his path (a friend drummer Cozy Powell died in a car crash in 1998, a friend drummer of Foo Fighters Taylor Hawkins died in 2022 ...). But Brian is an exceptional human being, so humble, kind and sweet.

Precisamente el baterista que aparece en esta presentación es el gran Cozy Powell fallecido en el 98.

@@killermay09 yes, Cozy Powell is playing the drums in these songs. He was a member of Brian May's Band then and a good friend of Brian's. An amazing drummer, a pure 💎. Cozy, rest in peace.

Brian was in a bad place emotionally at this point, he had thoughts of suicide and the music kept him sane, I love the guy.

Brian was in a bad place for years from 1991 when first his dad died and months later Freddie passed 😢. He was struggling with depression and said that in the darkest moments even music didn't reach him. He checked himself in a US rehab clinic and managed to learn how to deal with it. Brian is one kind, gentle and down to Earth human being ❤. But it's not easy having an IQ of 180 and a brain of scientist/musician .. his brain work on 110% even in his sleep. He stated that often he got ideas for songs from his dreams, waking up with words or snippets of music and lyrics (The Prophets song, We will rock you ...). A true 💎.

Brian is one of my top 5 favorite guitarists. Others are Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, and David Gilmour. I've been fortunate to see 4/5....missing David. Really need to fix this! Oh, I have seen Slash, opened for Ozzy. Slash is definitely top 10 for me!

You've done "Back to the Light" a few times but thought you'd enjoy the whole video with the short interview and with Slash. This is actually "The Tonight Show" which use to have other hosts besides Jay Leno (most famous was Johnny Carson, Conan O'Brien and now Jimmy Fallon) I love Brian's solo stuff as he seems to be much more rock and free to be himself. NOT knocking him with Queen but he was more background behind Freddie. We know Brian was the more rock guy in the band and most of his solo stuff shows that. His turn to shine.

Great find, Nanner. I think Brian's voice in his song "Back to the Light" is really strong and he expresses all his emotions. It reflects the state of mind he was in at the time. And the Queen song really showcases the guitar solos. Thank you for your reaction to this🤩🙋🏻‍♀️.

Incredibly fabulous! He is still such an animal onstage, his singing voice is so beautiful! It's incredible how Brian can be so deep in the zone, that he suddenly remembers he has to sing lead too and rush back to the mic. Please react to more of his solo work and concerts (brixton, Barcelona, his second album "another world", star fleet etc.)

That was a great find! I could feel Brian struggling emotionally in that first song. Heart felt words. Thanks HAP!

I've never seen this. IMO, I haven't heard your thoughts, Hap. Brian is much more comfortable when he sings while playing his guitar. His solo moments without the guitar, he seemed uncomfortable. The second song was a totally different vibe. To be clear, I loved it all ❤ Loved your reaction as always ✌️ ☮️ 🥷 👑

Thanks for posting this today! Jun 14, I just got out of the hospital. I was there at the Tonight Show when they taped this. 🥳 Official Queen Fan Club got a bank of tickets for us to buy, so there were LOTS of Queen fans there. Brian broke their rules and shook hands and autographed and we were all so focused on Brian that no one was asking Slash who was really popular at the time. He was just standing back and enjoying watching Brian do his thing. ☺️ among my favoritist of favorite memories. 👑❤️🌈🤘💐

Along with Brian and Slash you can see the great Cozy Powell on drums. Sadly, Cozy died in a car crash in 1998.😢

Man, 1993 is quite a time ago! Now I am feeling old as I went to Brian Mays concert tour for "Back To The Light". But if I remember correctly, it must have been in 1995 - in Germany. Some years later - 1998 - I went to his concert of his "Another World" tour. Great concerts, but really a long time ago! :) Check out more of Brians solo work! It's worth it! :) Thanks for your reaction!

Got his buddy Cozy Powell on drums with him. You're correct, his dad died the same year a few months before Freddie. Brian seldom looks please with himself when he plays or sings does he? Usually shaking his head as if he caught himself making a mistake that we, the audience, never heard. Until he's playing with or off of someone, like Slash, (or Freddie). Then he jams!

Wonder, if the audience knew what a treat this was. I hate the signs and animators which make them applause. Have we done "Another World" yet ? It's my fav, gotta check your playlist. Thanks Hap!

I have to disagree. It's a reaction video and Happ is a true 💎, his expressions, sensitivity and deep insights are true, genuine and great. He really is doing it from his ❤ so it's a treat to watch him. But ok, perhaps a slightly bigger screen of the video would be better. 😅
