I hope it’s impacted the son I have raised all by myself too. He’s now 34 and we were both rated in abuse and awful religion that I now know is a cult. I had just come to faith, and until then I had only listened to rap and techno. This song was the first worship song in my life. The whole atmosphere at the recording (Lüdenscheid) was overwhelming. Shortly after that, my buddy also came to believe and we drove through the city in our tuned car with blacked out windows and listened to Brian Doerksen on a car radio that was completely built for techno. Because of this, the windows rattled constantly in the old commie car. It was terrifying and wonderful at the same time. It felt so wrong pop-culturally, but so good at heart. I'm so sorry to hear that Fathers House was a financial debacle. I remember that album running high and low in my first church, even among the hard rockers. One guy had a conversion experience when he heard the CD. His mother had bought it and left it in the CD player. I remember we made fun of each other a little bit because he was such a tough guy and suddenly he was listening to such mellow music, but I felt the same way. Long story short, thank you Brian, you wrote the soundtrack to a new life for some of us and we are forever grateful.
