It's a beautiful thing to see how the love of one things make the rest of your dreams come together. You have a talent, a good girl, good teacher, nice truck and a brother that care about you. Good luck in your ventures, Always wishing you love, life, health and happiness.✌

Brian, start with the basics instead of throwing money at it. Get the engine running and tuned. Service the transmission. Buy a front disc brake kit. Replace the front steering parts if need be. Work with what you already got. Tons of info on the internet. If you need parts Los Angeles Craigslist, Pomona Swapmeet, Facebook Market Place, etc. You don’t always have to buy new. Chevy parts are plentiful!

great brother , building a car with your brother will always be a memory . I wouldn't ask my brother to pick up stones he would probably break them or steal them . I know is old post but cant wait to see this project finished.

I agree with the others below, about keeping the vintage look outside. I think of it as a worn old pair of boots. Just like you rebuild boots from the ground up, leaving the heart (uppers) in a worn but reconditioned look. I think you should apply this to the truck. That new suspension and brakes, with a custom leather interior, LS swap motor maybe... Leaving the body with that broken-in look. Just my 2 cents. PS I am jealous, and am sure whatever you do will be classy as hell.

Digging the truck! Rough out the kinks before you go all out. I own a 56 with my dad and it is a great cruiser with just a different rear end, motor and steering linkage. This truck was a headache when it came to the body; rusty parts and years of abuse meant many parts were not useable. They do make complete frames that would be light years easier to swap the body with.

That's a sweet ride Brian. It's a long haul doin a resto on the cheap but its worth it. I have a 66 Chevy C10 that I refuse to spend big money on. You can still make it nice and have a good driver without spending a lot. It may not be showroom quality but I like driving and using my truck.

I will keep it stock as much as possible. I would go to junkyards and find the parts you need. There are many places that can get your parts. Just like a classic boot, You only replace the essentials and keep the leather as clean and healthy as possible. Your truck is not very difficult to work on. I am confident that a person of your determination will clean up this lady. Remember she earned her dignity.

David Braly what did you do for the suspension?
@dlbraly4 жыл бұрын
@@BrianTheBootmaker Nothing, the suspension is stock. It drives like an old truck, and I'm ok with that. I actually learned to drive in it when I was 9. Its not nice to look at, but it means something to me. I did put a 350 in it, and a 400 turbo tranny back 92 after I got out of the military. I need to switch out the gears in the rearend or get another rearend to put in it. but again, money and time. I look forward to watching your progress. You and MrHevyshevy here on youtube are working on tri five chevy trucks. kind of getting me motivated to do more with mine. Thanks - when I get around to it, I will post some pics on my instagram and tag you. I follow you there as well. instagram.com/dlbraly/
