Best tutorial on brick stitch. I used this and was able to teach my 7-year-old grandson on how to the brick stitch in an hour! Before finding this, it took me 2 weeks to comfortably be able to do it well.

For the "increase section" of this video, how did you travel back down and not have your single top bead sit slightly on the side?

I'm having the same problem with mine, I'm guessing we travel down the side down through the beads, but do we tie off somewhere? 🤔

What brand of beads do you recommend, I’m very new to beading and I bought some low quality beads that seemingly make it more difficult.
@BeadingbyHannah

Hi, I’d recommend miyuki, toho or czech preciosa for precision beading because all of the beads are very uniform in size and shape which is essential for this type of weaving :)

I’m not sure if will help, it’s hard without seeing the pattern but I would start with a base row of 14 and decrease from there instead of increasing, I always start on my widest row because it’s easier to decrease than increase

For the smaller beads what size of string and needle do you use? I keep having mine get stuck and can’t pull it through or breaking the beads. Thank you.
@BeadingbyHannah
@BeadingbyHannah Жыл бұрын
I usually use 6lb fireline which has a 0.006 inch diameter and I will use a size 12 for tiny beads or size 10 needle for most other sizes

Is the string always going to show on the side of the triangle? Is it always going to be exposed that way?
@Pammellam

This video is an excellent brick stitch tutorial but I understand your worry. I also would want to hide the thread. There is a way to do that, to _hide the thread._ You need to start a row with two beads. I found a really good explanation but I can’t put a URL link in a KZfaq comment, it will be deleted. Instead… Search for the web page called: myworldofbeads Then search for the page called: Learn brick stitch She gives a concise explanation with drawings how to successfully keep the thread hidden on the sides. And she gives lots of tips to be successful with brick stitch. To give a summary of her tip: Start every row by picking up TWO beads. Then, for the rest of the row, just add 1 bead in each stitch. Why is this important? Well, this rule is all about disguising your thread. If you add just one bead at the start of a row, then you will end up with an exposed thread sitting around the side of the bead. Quoted from: Learn brick stitch, Katie Dean, My World of Beads

You need to correct that it’s not a brick stitch. It’s called a peyote stitch. Just saying, beautiful work you’re doing there.
