Time to throw them into a big box of modern Legos.

I don't understand why people don't build towns in this style, it's hypnotic to watch.i left the 4m x 2m town to my son only for newer lego and I built another one 3,60m x 1,20m only for these sets with 4,5 volt blue tracks and only preminifigs without arms. it's so relaxing, basic and colourful.

Seems like the 70s era of Lego was a lot more blocky and "primitive." I certainly see a lot more specialty parts in sets these days. Thanks for sharing! It's a fascinating look at the history of one of the best toys ever.

Loving the classic sets. Brings back good childhood memories. Even when the figures look scary with no arms or facial features like the 70s horror film.

I remember having basic sets without any figures, then getting the Police Station & Brickyard for xmas, and immediately i wanted more to build a whole town...then the minifigure sets starting coming out, and of course, i wanted THOSE sets, and my mom didnt understand why i needed a whole new police station! Lol. Now i have EVERY SINGLE Legoland set i wanted (per the catalogs in the sets i have) and ive built an entire vintage Legoland, with a few customs, thats over 100 square feet!

Nice to see. I had about half of all these sets, including the café when I was a kid in the 70s. And the rest I remember from the catalogs.

4:24 Pretzel Haus wtf? Vom die jahre 1976? The police car is a good and very memorable set from 1973. It was a relatively in-expensive stand-alone set that you could buy on its own with the single stud blue tile as the siren. Mini figure not included.

wonderful sets! I've got the firetruck and the police station of these here. Sometimes I bought a set cause I'd like to create a city with only preminifigures (I love them) sets or not mini figures at all, let's say late 60's to late 70's sets and only 4,5 v blu rails. the real annoying frustrating problem is that I don't have damned space!! :(

BrickTsar : Never owned this set as a child. Anyway, I have strong feelings with this set because, back in the seventies you had lots of these cafe/restaurants near highways. Metal tables and metal chairs... Ice cream in a small metal cup with a paper umbrella... My parents coffee... A lot of "nostalgia"😊 ...

I think lego is going partially wrong... I mean I bought the last fire station from lego for my kid that was cheap in a market. very nice but too much pieces, too much little pieces... simply too much and bad assembled, it destroys only touching... I know todays kids want more but that's a wrong way. these old sets can push your imagination with few pieces and have a dreaming power and atmosphere that modern legos have lost imho.
