The LAAT/c or Republic Dropship was a variant of the Republic Gunship, solely designed for the deployment of tanks like the AT-TE or AT-OT into battle during the Clone Wars. Compared to its brother the Republic Gunship, this carrier was equipped only with the bare minimum of fire power for coverage during deployment on the battle field. Instead of a troop bay it has a giant gap in the middle, framed by magnetisable claws. This vessel was almost always accompanied by Republic Gunships or other Starfighters.

When it comes to Star Wars, absolutely. They are basically the Star Wars equivalent to Brickmania who focuses on military. both have the best designs on the market for their respective genres of builds.

@spooky2bricks yeah, the only real "issue" is that they're custom builds, meaning that when you part the build out you pay 4x more than what lego would charge

I’m sure most people know this, but nearly all Lego models will never be accurate because of 1. Cost saving measures, 2. Playability, 3. Structural integrity of pieces and the structure as a whole. All Lego models basically have to fulfill this goals to be a viable set that works with their business. That’s just the unfortunate reality.

@DK-lz7kg yeah, Lego can easily dominate the accuracy custom market, they just choose not to because it's not as profitable as what they do now

I definitely agree, the labor costs are a big ‘issue’ when it comes to custom models like what Brickmania and Brickveteran do. But that does make them highly collectible in terms of rarity which I do like, although the price makes obtaining a large collection very hard and cost prohibitive. @@Duskcosmog

These updated models capture the dimensions, scale, and shapes perfectly, which I believe is most important! Sure, interior details are great to see, but I care most about how it looks on the outside and how accurate it looks. Cannot wait for the ATAP, my favorite GAR walker! Also, I hope this designer will go on to build updated Imperial designs. A new ATAT would be awesome to see, as well as maybe some lesser known legends Imp vehicles, like the Firehawke, Floating Fortress, or Chariot

I used to believe the OG Dropship BrickVault showcased was the best custom one on the market at the time until I first saw this one by Bouster awhile back. Glad to actually see it come to BrickVault now, by a spectral landslide the best custom Dropship.

@@ForgedinLego Maybe, but the way yours pairs with the official AT-TE and the insane ease of locking onto the tank beats out looks any day as far as I'm concerned. I may be in my twenties but I still like to play with my LEGO just as much as looking at it. Plus, you're still looks good-sleeker than most official stuff. Now the only problem is that I've bought your instructions on Rebrickable, I just don't have the $400+ to get the parts. 😭😭

I think that the Gozanti's large, flat, geometric exterior lends itself quite well to customization.

I built Bouskers AT-TE 2 years ago, my absolute favorite design of this tank and 2nd favorite of my collection right after richboyjhaes gunship. At the moment he is resting in my custom build venator hangar, but i definitely need the Dropship to get him out there and back in action on my planned Geonosis MOC

it's awesome that you remake already existing models (can't wait for the at-ap), but is there any plans for a minifig scale ut-at, a5 juggernaut (a6 is borderline impossible being as massive as the ghost if not more), mini/micro scale sphat (doesn't get the love it deserves), etc?

I don't know if you could design an axle with current LEGO parts to build something like that. Even using a turntable piece wouldn't really work considering the sizes of the wheels.

I always love how people are able to work out ways to make something already great even better! I love your model but just like you’ve said in the video, this new one is even better. It’s just like with some of the other models in the shop that got updated. For me it’s even more impressive to see when builders update their own design because it shows how much they evolve and sharp their skills over time! I didn’t build a model for quite some time now but seeing the likes of this or the slave one get me extremely excited to touch some legos!

Looks so oversized tbh. They are present on the Felucia map in Battlefront and the wings are pretty slim, maybe 6ft wide, so a bit more than a minifigure, and those wings here are more than twice that size. Looks incredible, just not a typical minifigure scale.

The design is exactly proportionate to minifig scale. games don’t always reflect things in perfect size, its accurate according to its dimensions in Episode II, (the real source material). It also matches what’s seen in one of the Star Wars visual dictionary’s images.

@@spooky2bricks visual dictionaries aren't canon, they are completely made up bullshit. other than belligerent comments, got any proper links? From the movie material it looks to be the exact size as a regular gunship and the at-te in battlefront matches in size to the dropship on the same map.

You're saying the wings should only be five studs wide? I'm not sure how that would make any sense, let alone how it would be accurate. If it helps, the model was scaled to the AT-TE, which was scaled based on Battlefront II. The front area is significantly larger than that of the gunship as you can see in AOTC when looking at the size of the pilot.

I’ll definitely agree that the visual dictionaries are not cannon and aren’t always accurate but they do offer some decent insight. But again, the dropship model is as accurate to 1/35th scale from what I remember. The dropship is bigger than the gunship although it doesn’t always appear obvious. In season 4 episode 11 of the Clone Wars, around the 3 minute mark, you see Dropships carrying AT-TE’s alongside Gunships and it it evident the dropship is a little bigger than both.@@Matt..S

@@spooky2bricks a google search tells a different picture especially using the cockpit as scale. the wings are longer and so is the neck, but this is just oversized. it would probably match well with the hideously oversized UCS gunship, but it simply is not minifigure scale, neither by going fig height or fig width.

Hi Brickvault, has your Jedi Interceptor build been updated? It's a little hard to tell, but the one that briefly appears at 01:04 looks to me to be a little different from the pictures on your webstore! Or is it just a recolour from red to dark red?
