Why are new countries joining BRICS? What will new BRICS members get from joining the BRICS bloc?
Most countries interested in joining the BRICS are not happy with the Western countries due to their domination in almost all international organizations and these countries want to diversify themselves.
Also, the imposition of sanctions on Russia has triggered the fear of Washington and Europe using organizations for global dominance as a vehicle for their foreign policy aims. Unlike Western-led groups, BRICS is a non-discriminatory organization, open to all countries.

NOT 50 countries 'willing', THOSE countries need to apply application for membership, then qualify requirements to join, and then GET INVITED by brics members. This is not everybody can join, it's an economic bloc, not a united nations.

Discrediting of the UN and UN security council is in process. Nato is going to have a formidable opponent when it is proven that UN never protected anyone. BRICS will have no choice but to have security division to protect BRICS investments as Nato do to it's members.

My understand of BRICS is it a vehicle to lend and borrow money for infrastructure and sustainable development projects. The instrument of this vehicle is the New Development Bank. For these project to be sucessfull, the currency used must be trusted and limited in usage. Trusted because it is use in trade transaction and limited in usage such as to not being able to freely exchange with other currency such as the dollars, Yen, Euro, etc. The reason the BRICS currency should be limited in usage is because it return on investment must be used for reinvesting into New Development Bank project. For example, the currency cannot be used as a speculative currency - the stock exchange and real estate investment country that issue this currency must not return a higher yield than those from the develop countries. If the BRICS accept any currency who are tied to develop coutries - it could derail a New Development Bank project, because the develop countries financial service could disrupt the New Development Bank project with better yield that are not ties to developing infrastructure project. For this reason, the develop countries should not join the BRICS or else the New Developement Bank would become just another IMF bank.

The exact reason is not given for not joining the bloc on 1st Jan.
