I'm glad she bought the Wild Card, I would have screamed. 500 pounds with a detachable skirt! In pristine condition and fit her like a glove with no alterations. That's a crazy good bargain. From 2100 to 500. That is 76% off the original cost. Any bargain hunter loves a deal like that.

@@noone8662 i had to pay 160 I think for alterations to my daughter's prom dress. It was beaded so they charge more. It's a huge savings to avoid alterations and still look good.

@@mommynab I'm a seamstress and I conquer.. especially with beading, lace and those very delicate fabrics. It's really rare that a dress will fit perfectly the first shot, so it's almost inevitable to pay extra. This girl probably had calculated that in her budget and that's why she was looking at a lower price, but since that one was perfect, well it was fine. She did get it in the end, for everyone making a fuss. She probably DID have that money.

Normally I would agree but this is an exception it is such a good price that she would be able to sell it on for 450 or even 500, and it would still be a bargain for the third bride So in the end it wouldn’t be over budget at all, she could make money selling it 😂

I was looking for this comment! I 100% would have paid £100 to have my best friend (someone who loved me enough to want me to be help make decisions about her wedding) get the dress that she really wanted. It's an extra shift in the office. My friend is worth an extra shift.

People here are annoying. The dress isn't new. It's been worn by another bride. Therefore secondhand. No secondhand wedding dress should go for 2k. Her budget was £300 for SECONDHAND. which is pretty decent. You will never get anything close to the retail cost of your wedding dress. That's why it's mind boggling that people spend soooooo much money on a dress for one day but that's their prerogative. Some would rather pay that extra towards a wedding photographer etc. So think twice before assuming her wedding will be cheap and tacky. Looked beautiful. And think twice before judging someone's budget. £500 for a secondhand dress is a bit much but its beautiful. Glad she picked it.

I wore a dress very similar to this 20 years ago with a detachable skirt. It had the detachable skirt, and was beautiful. I paid $300 US dollars back then and thought it was a bargain.

That's almost an exclusively American thing, to my understanding, to have a norm of $1,000-2,000 wedding dress budget. In Europe, that can be the entire wedding budget.

On Say Yes to the Dress I think one of the mistakes they said not to make was to try on a dress outside of your budget. That’s just effed up to show someone something they can’t afford! Especially a wedding dress! That would piss me off if something was given to me to try on that was out of my budget. I’d give them zero dollars & go elsewhere...but whatever they need for ratings

300 pounds is $425. She can definitely get a $425 dress at a consignment shop...so no, we in the USA would not laugh at someone with a budget of $425 for a used wedding dress.
