Both the Christian religion and southern culture traditionally put emphasis on being more conservative-especially for women. It also seemed like they both agreed this was the style they wanted. The worst thing is they hide with religion. I'm a Christian myself and I would never be that scared, or nervous of my fiance's opinion on something I wear or do. (I'm actually engaged). So many red flags on this episode.

Exactly. Sounds abusive to me and I would know. And to people saying “oh my god it’s reality tv” .. yes these things are generally lightly scripted, but the whole point is that the producers don’t have to create storylines because it’s all right there in real life. It’s pure laziness. I know that look on that bride’s face because I’ve been there.

@@fina.friedel thats right! We are all given free will. But she clearly said she is a "Christian girl who loves the Lord". That is not a Biblical statement to then say "no man will tell me what to wear". That goes against some of what the Bible says about a wife. We are to submit to one another. So...if her "future husband" shows signs of request of what he prefers you are to submit to that if you are a Christian. It shows love and respect. Same goes with the wife. If your man grows a big bushy beard and you hate its look or it hurts to kiss him he too should submit to his wife and shave. That's why really getting to know someone and asking hard questions before you marry are important. Those things you don't like while dating are going to drive you nuts in marriage. Besides the Bible says to be modest...modesty is on everyone's own personal scale but still. We are to follow Christ's teachings as much as we are able as a "Christian girl who loves Lord Jesus"
